Cooking food is very important in Palworld 1.0, not just for yourself, but your helpful base pals. Making sure they’re well fed has benefits outside of simply making sure work gets done. You can have your tasks done faster if you’re cooking the right foods for them. At first, you’re probably just going to be cooking skewers, or fried eggs, or something like that. But as your ability to acquire ingredients grows, so will the recipes you can make.

It will also, of course, depend on what cooking station you have access to. As these things grow, so too does your ability to make great food for your pals. If you want to know the best food to make for your base pals in Palworld 1.0, here’s what we use.

What are the best food items for base pals in Palworld 1.0?

Base Pals are the friends that stay behind in Palworld 1.0 and perform all the tedious tasks for you, so make sure you’re cooking them the best food. We’re basing the choices below on how long they’re useful, the ease of ingredient acquisition, and what they offer your pals, in terms of stat buffs.

Mozzarina Hamburger is definitely the top-tier food (Image via Pocketpair || Sportskeeda)

Our goal is to get the best work speed possible for the least amount of materials, and also make our Sanity stat last longer, that’s even better! Below are our choices for the best foods for base pals in Palworld 1.0.

Food Recipe Stat Buffs Cooking Requirement
Mozzarina Hamburger 1x Mozzarina Meat, 1x Flour, 2x Lettuce Work Speed +50%, Pal Sanity Lasts Longer Electric Kitchen
Dumud Chowder 1x Raw Dumud, 2x Lettuce, 2x Tomato Work Speed +30%, Pal Sanity Lasts Longer Electric Kitchen
Fried Chikipi 1x Chikipi Poultry, 1x Flour, 1x Egg, 1x High Quality Pal Oil Work Speed +30%, Pal Sanity Lasts Longer Electric Kitchen
Grilled Lamball 1x Lamball Mutton, 2x Lettuce Work Speed +30%, Pal Sanity Lasts Longer Cooking Pot
Salad 2x Lettuce, 2x Tomato Work Speed +30% Cooking Pot
Chikipi Saute 1x Chikipi Poultry, 2x Red Berries Work Speed +30% Cooking Pot
Stewed Galeclaw 1x Galeclaw Poultry, 2x Red Berries Pal Sanity Lasts Longer Cooking Pot
Pancake 1x Flour, 1x Milk Pal Sanity Lasts Longer Cooking Pot

The downside to these types of foods is that you’re going to need to be at least level 17 so you can start cooking with a Cooking Pot. The best ones require an Electric Kitchen, which is even higher still. The majority of these are very easy to get ingredients for. The only ones that might be annoying are Galeclaw Poultry and Raw Dumud.

Mozzarina meat is kind of annoying to get, because you have to butcher for it, or just kill them in the wild. However, it’s the most useful combination of Pal Sanity and Work Speed, making it the best pal food. You can however, breed Mozzarinas, and butcher them for meat. It’s cruel, but it’s effective.

The goal here is to make Sanity last longer, so we can keep our pals working at a decent speed. With that in mind, the above food items are 100% the best. In the early game, it won’t matter too much, but the higher your levels, the more you have to keep in mind what you are feeding your pals.
