Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has called for a transparent investigation into the alleged irregularities in donations at the Ram Temple, saying those responsible must face strict punishment if found guilty. In a post on X, Priyanka Gandhi alleged that the reported theft and misappropriation of temple offerings had shaken the faith of millions of devotees and described it as an act against the ideals represented by Lord Ram.“Those who have stolen from the Ram Temple have committed the gravest sin of shattering the fundamental spirit of religion and faith,” she wrote.

    Questions role of authorities

The Congress leader questioned whether such alleged irregularities could have been carried out solely by lower-level employees.“This question is also crucial: Can mere low-level employees, on their own, turn off CCTV cameras and tamper with thousands of crores in offerings, or is there complicity of some big players behind it?” she wrote. Also read: How Ram temple ‘donation theft’ unfolded: 8 arrested, Rs 80 lakh cash recovered; SIT finds counting unit link

    Calls for transparent investigation

Priyanka Gandhi demanded that the investigation be conducted transparently and not be used to shield anyone involved. She said the inquiry should determine whether larger players were complicit in the alleged wrongdoing and asserted that everyone found responsible should be given strict punishment under the law.On Fridays, Ram Janmabhoomi Trust General Secretary Champat Rai and member trustee Anil Mishra resigned, taking moral responsibility for the alleged embezzlement of Ram Mandir donations.
