Ronald Acuna Jr.’s wife, Maria Laborde, recently penned a heartfelt prayer after two earthquakes shook the capital of Venezuela, Caracas, within a few seconds, two of them being of 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude, making it the strongest one to hit South America in a century.
In the aftermath of the incident, Venezuela’s interim President, Delcy Rodríguez, declared a state of emergency and allowed extra resources to be used for the recovery initiatives. She urged the citizens to evacuate the damaged buildings and also announced that the airports were closed because of severe damage that had been incurred.
“We ask the population to remain calm and united” – Delcy Rodríguez sent out a televised statement after the incident.

The number of casualties has not yet been reported, although the social media report shows buildings being leveled, as rescuers are still digging through the rubble to rescue the survivors.

“Let us pray for those who may have endured moments of distress, and let us look out for one another. Sending strength and a hug from afar.” – she added.

In a recent interview, the WS champ Chipper Jones got honest about his thoughts on Ronald Acuna Jr.’s recovery timeline since the Braves superstar incurred a hamstring injury in the same spot as before. During an interview, the host asked Jones about the ongoing theory of Ronald not stretching enough, which is putting him through frequent injuries. Jones defended the All-Star, saying he comes from the Ken Griffey Jr. school of thought, who never streched before a game, saying a cheetah never does, so neither will he. He also pointed out the area that concerns him about the 28-year-old’s future.
“The thing that is concerning for me is that like Ronnie’s [Ronald Acuna Jr.] not 35, 36 years old. You know, I mean, he’s going through his peak years and he continues to struggle with the soft tissue injuries” – Chipper Jones pointed out.
The 2023 NL MVP is currently batting .251 with 7 home runs, 22 RBI, and 16 stolen bases under his belt. Since June 10, the Braves superstar has been put on the IL with a grade 1 hamstring strain during a showdown against White Sox.
