Avni Kejriwal, a CBSE Class 12 student from Ranchi, has claimed to have secured a perfect score of 500 out of 500 after the board’s re-evaluation process, potentially making her a national topper.
When the CBSE Class 12 results were declared on May 13, Avni had scored 95.2 per cent. However, she believed her marks in some subjects did not reflect her performance and decided to apply for re-evaluation.

“Basically, I had scored 95.2 per cent before the re-evaluation. I got 81 marks in English and 95 in Business Studies. I have always performed well in English at school, so we were confident that the marks needed to be reviewed,” she said.
After the re-evaluation, her score was revised to a perfect 500 out of 500 across all five subjects.
“My family members were satisfied with the marks, but I was not. I was waiting for the re-evaluation page on the CBSE website to open, and then I applied. After the re-evaluation, I got 500 marks out of 500. I am delighted with the result,” Avni said.
A student of DPS Ranchi, Avni said she did not believe in measuring preparation through the number of hours studied each day. Instead, she focused on completing daily learning goals.

“If I have set a target to complete two or three topics a day, then I have to complete them. It does not matter how many hours it takes,” she said.
Avni also advised students to use social media in moderation and ensure that it does not interfere with their studies.
Looking ahead, she hopes to pursue higher studies and eventually start her own business. “I want to set up my own business in the future and pursue my studies accordingly,” she said.
Congratulating Avni, DPS Ranchi Principal Dr Jaya Chauhan said her achievement reflected determination, focus and consistent effort.
