Thierry Henry has claimed that Bruno Fernandes chases perfection on the pitch like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. He went on to reveal that players who strive for perfection think differently and are difficult to understand.

Speaking on the Rio Ferdinand Presents podcast, Henry disclosed that Fernandes is always looking to improve on the pitch. He urged fans to enjoy such players instead of trying to understand them, saying:

“That’s how Leo is, that’s how Cristiano is, that’s how Bruno Fernandes is. Guys that think differently, do think differently. Why people always raise when the guy loses?. I have seen Bruno Fernandes have a go at people after wins, and if you always want to reach perfection, which is impossible, they wanna reach, do not try to understand a genius, just enjoy them.

Bruno Fernandes has proved to be a consistient midfielder in the last few seasons, having delivered goals and assists for Manchester United. His vision in distributing the ball and creating clear-cut chances for others to score has likewise been outstanding. In 327 appearances across competitions, he has scored 107 goals and registered 108 assists for the Red Devils.

The former Sporting CP midfielder is likewise a risk-taker who could launch an outrageous pass from range, and he also tries to correct his teammates even when his team registers a victory in that game. Traits Henry believes make Fernandes a genius.

Lionel Messi has been brilliant for Argentina in the ongoing FIFA World Cup. He scored a hat-trick in their opening game against Algeria and also equaled Miroslav Klose’s record in the competition.

Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo had an opening World Cup encounter to forget as he struggled to impress against DR Congo. He also failed to register a shot on target and was a subject of criticism in the game’s aftermath.

Messi has scored 16 goals in 27 World Cup appearances since registering his first appearance in 2006. Meanwhile, Ronaldo made his first FIFA World Cup outing in 2006 and has scored eight goals in 23 appearances in the competition.
