The 2026 King of the Ring Tournament is in full swing on the road to WWE Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia. A new report has revealed the original plans for this year’s King of the Ring Tournament winner, and it’s going to disappoint many fans.
WWE began the 2026 King and Queen of the Ring Tournaments on RAW after the Clash in Italy premium live event.
Thanks for the submission!
It featured 16 participants from RAW and SmackDown, vying for a title opportunity at the Biggest Party of the Summer – SummerSlam.
Last week on SmackDown, WWE concluded the first round matchups, with Jey Uso winning the Fatal 4-Way Match, featuring LA Knight, Royce Keys, and Finn Balor.
The Megastar’s early exit from the King of the Ring Tournament came as a surprise to many since he was involved in a renewed rivalry with the Bloodline members on RAW.
Shortly after, TC of WrestleVotes via Fightful Select claimed that some people within the company were concerned about LA Knight’s in-ring capabilities. That rumor has since been marked as an opinion.
As a matter of fact, Self Made Sessions recently reported that LA Knight was set to win the King of the Ring Tournament this year before the Triple H-led creative changed its mind.
What’s next for LA Knight in WWE?
Despite failing to advance in the King of the Ring Tournament, LA Knight hasn’t stopped blaming the Bloodline for his recent shortcomings.
During the latest episode of RAW, he came out to air his frustration in front of the WWE Universe, holding Solo Sikoa responsible for his loss.
The MFT leader nailed the Megastar with a Samoan Spike in hopes of helping Royce Keys, but the Yeet Man stole the victory from the jaws of defeat.
Knight even questioned whether Sikoa was still in cahoots with the Bloodline. The segment escalated quickly when the Usos came out to confront him, leading to a two-on-one attack.
The Megastar nearly fended off the Bloodline with the steel chair, but the numbers game caught up to him when the Samoan Werewolf joined the fray and took him out with the Tongan D*ath Grip.
Will this lead to a match between Reigns and Knight at Night of Champions or Saturday Night’s Main Event? Or has LA Knight been written off television? Only time will tell.
