Stone Cold Steve Austin is one of the most recognisable names in the world of professional wrestling. A new major promotion is now set to honor the legacy of Stone Cold alongside some other major names with a new Championship. The company in question is Major League Wrestling who recently announced a new Southern Crown Championship on the latest episode of their weekly show Fusion.
MLW recently brought back their weekly show Fusion after a 3 year long hiatus. There was a lot of excitement regarding the event and it featured several big attractions as well. The main event for the show was set to be a Major League Wrestling World Title rematch between Killer Kross and Matt Riddle. On the show, the promotion also announced a new Championship titled the Southern Crown Championship.
Thanks for the submission!
The title was introduced to honor the heritage of stars from the Southern parts of the United States of America in the world of professional wrestling. Some of the biggest Southern stars in the pro-wrestling world include names like Stone Cold Steve Austin who belongs to Texas, Dusty Rhodes and Ric Flair. The new Champion will be decided in a Bunkhouse Stampede match in the coming few months. No further details regarding the match or the title were revealed.
It will be interesting to see what’s next for Major League Wrestling now that they have brought back their weekly show Fusion.
Kevin Nash thinks that TKO doesn’t value Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Undertaker
Following TKO’s acquisition of WWE, the company has been accused of turning everything more corporate. The frustration can be seen among fans alongside several other stars who chose to leave the company in recent years. While speaking on his Kliq This! podcast, WWE Legend Kevin Nash spoke about how TKO doesn’t value legends like Stone Cold Steve Austin and the Undertaker much and doesn’t show much appreciation for them unlike Vince McMahon.
“Now, I don’t think they look at Steve and Taker the same way. I’m talking about TKO, or as we now refer to it, The Adjustment Bureau; they just don’t show the appreciation. It’s almost kind of like having a president that has no experience in warfare; they just don’t get it,” he said.
Fans are curious to see when they will get to see legendary names like Stone Cold Steve Austin or the Undertaker back on WWE programming for even a one-off appearance.
