Premier League giants Chelsea and Arsenal are both keen on signing Barcelona attacking midfielder Dani Olmo this summer, as per Fichajes (h/t Caught Offside). While the Blaugrana would reportedly prefer to retain Olmo’s services ahead of next season, they could sanction his sale for a €70 million transfer fee.

After impressing at RB Leipzig for four years, Barcelona re-signed Dani Olmo in the summer of 2024 on a six-year deal for a reported sum of €60 million. The Spaniard has impressed at the club to date, scoring 20 goals and providing 17 assists in 88 appearances across all competitions. He has been pivotal in helping the Blaugrana win five trophies to date, including two LaLiga titles.

While Olmo is set to represent Spain at the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup, he is also reportedly open to a move away from the Blaugrana. However, he currently prefers a move to Arsenal over Chelsea, following the former’s resurgence in recent years. The Gunners secured the 2025-26 Premier League title and reached the UEFA Champions League final last season.

On the other hand, Chelsea had a disappointing end to their season, finishing 10th in the league table and missing out on European football. However, under Xabi Alonso’s leadership, Olmo could be an ideal signing to help them get back to the top five.

However, Dani Olmo has also had his struggles with injuries, missing 27 fixtures across all competitions over the past two seasons.

“The best decision of my career” – When Raphinha claimed he rejected Arsenal and Chelsea to join Barcelona

Barcelona winger Raphinha recently admitted that he rejected Arsenal and Chelsea to join the Blaugrana in the summer of 2022. Despite Chelsea reportedly having an agreement in place with Leeds United to sign the Brazilian star, Raphinha signed a five-year deal with the LaLiga giants for a transfer fee of £50 million.

In an interview nearly a month ago, Raphinha said (via Yahoo Sports):

“I had offers from a Blue team and also a Red team from London… but the best decision of my career was signing for Barcelona.”

The 29-year-old has flourished for the Blaugrana, garnering 75 goals and 59 assists in 177 appearances across all competitions, helping them win seven trophies to date, including three LaLiga titles. He also finished fifth in the 2025 Ballon d’Or rankings.
