How to gift cars in Forza Horizon 6

In Forza Horizon 6, you can gift cars to other players who have either returned to the franchise after a long time or are brand new to it. This method of gifting cars to other players has been a feature in the series for quite some time now, especially ever since barn finds were introduced.

It is worth mentioning, before getting into the article, that you cannot directly gift cars to your friends on Forza Horizon 6. Though the game has a Gift Drop feature, it is not exactly designed to give a specific player a car. However, there is a trick to offering friends cars at a hefty discount. Here are more details about how gifting vehicles actually works.

Method to gift cars in Forza Horizon 6

First, lets look at the official Gift Drop feature in the game. When you progress through Forza Horizon 6, hints will be given to you about barn finds. These are hidden warehouses that will contain a special car. Your goal is to find these barns in a specific area. After you find the warehouse and let the cutscene play, you will get a notification of gifting another player a car that you already own.

Once you agree to gift a car, you can pick one and then select the category of players to whom you want to gift it. The categories of players are: Anyone, New Players, New Horizon Legends, Returning Players, and Community Contributors.

After selecting a category, the game will ask you to select a message for the player and then ask you whether you want your name or gamertag to appear on the gift. This is how you gift cars in Forza Horizon 6.

Basically, the gifted car will then go to a random player in the game, which is narrowed down by the category you choose in the beginning.

If you have already found barns and want to continue to gift cars, you can head to any one of the already-discovered barns, which then turns into a Gift Drop area.

Selling cars to friends in Forza Horizon 6 through auction house

Though the game does not allow you to gift cars to a specific player, there is a trick to do so using the auction house. Auction House is a place where players can sell and buy cars from others. This is one of the best features since users can quickly get their hands on rare wheelspins or treasure cars by paying for them.

If you want to gift cars to a specific player, you need to do a well-coordinated auction house sale. In simple terms, as soon as you put your car on sale, your friend should be the first one to buy it from the auction house.

First, both you and your friend should be connected in the game and on a call to coordinate the sale as quickly as possible. Then, your friend should have the correct filters on to search for that exact car. Make sure they keep the manufacturer and the make filters ready.

Though the other player has to pay some amount of money for the car, you can lower the buy-out and bid price to the minimum. Once this is done, you can put the car at the auction house and immediately ask your friend to start searching for it.

If the auction house’s list of that particular car is long, the other player can keep an eye on the seller’s information area and keep scrolling until they find your name and profile picture. As soon as they find it, they can buy the car and get it in their game. This is the only way to gift cars directly to a friend.

The risky part is that if some other player is already searching for that car, they might be able to snipe it before your friend, especially because of the low buy-out price.
