The Indiana Fever suffered their fifth loss of the 2026 WNBA season after an 83-75 defeat against the New York Liberty on Sunday. Following the disappointing loss, fans went after veteran star Kelsey Mitchell for her performance against New York.
Mitchell already had a tough shooting performance, as she went 7-for-21 from the field with 21 points. However, the thing that frustrated most fans was her unwillingness to pass the basketball. The YouTube channel “Keep The Vision” posted a video showing how a possession resulted in a turnover after the three-time All-Star did not move the rock.
Following this underwhelming performance, fans criticized the WNBA star for her disappointing performance.
“Kelsey Mitchell is selfish as f**k. She absolutely refuses to ever pass or try and make plays. She just wants to be the highest scoring player. Makes crucial errors and dribbles for 20 seconds.. get her the hell out of here,” a fan said.
“This is just horrible basketball… Kelsey Mitchell taking 50 dribbles in iso and running laps of the court for no reason only to chuck up some bulls**t…” another fan commented.
“Kelsey Mitchell is Arike with better PR…” one fan said.
More fans expressed their disappointment with the Fever star.
“Kelsey Mitchell might be the most selfish player I’ve ever had the misfortune of watching…” someone commented.
“Kelsey Mitchell plays way too selfish. Plays with blinders on. The number of times she misses wide open teammates only to drive directly into traffic and blow a layup is insane,” a comment read.
“With Kelsey Mitchell on the team before CC they had the worst record that gave them the lottery pick for Caitlin. Think about that,” one fan commented.
Fever Star Caitlin Clark Called Out by Veteran Columnist
It has been a frustrating start to the season for the Indiana Fever, as they are now 5-5 in the regular season. After their latest loss on Sunday, star guard Caitlin Clark was called out by veteran columnist Bill Plaschke of The Los Angeles Times. According to Plaschke, Clark has whined too much to the referees and wants her to do a better job at it.
“I wish Caitlin Clark would just stop whining and play,” Plaschke wrote. “The logo-shooting, circus-passing, shape-shifting revelation who was once arguably the most famous basketball player in the world has become rude, entitled and, frankly, not all that fun.
“In her third season in the WNBA, the once-shining superstar is acting like a spoiled brat. The league’s most popular player has become its biggest lout. Her stats are decent, but her attitude stinks.”
Plaschke hopes that the Fever star can address her constant complaining before she becomes an unwatchable player. According to the author, Clark should strive to have the same mindset on the floor as A’ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces.
