Major female WWE star reveals she pitched romance angle with Gunther 

Gunther has become a popular star with the WWE Universe over the past few years, and it seems that many names in the locker room want to work with him, including Hall of Famer Nikki Bella.

The former Divas Champion recently confessed on the Nikki & Brie Show that she pitched a whole angle for TV ahead of Clash in Italy, which included a gondola ride with Gunther and then a meal with Penta.

Bella noted that it would be like Emily in Paris, where different segments are shown with her having dates or moments with other superstars.

“I’d have these different moments with WWE superstars. So like there would be a moment where I’m on the Italian scooter with Danhausen and his scarf is flying in my face. And then it cuts to having a moment with Brie [Bella] and Paige and having Aperol Spritz with the Tag Team Champions. And then I’d be on a gondola ride with Gunther and he’s just staring straight being Gunther… and then the gondola is another WWE superstar that’s either giving me the looks or he’s someone that hates Gunther.”

Bella is still recovering from an ankle injury, but did note that the company clearly rejected the idea since it wasn’t put into action for Clash in Italy. Bella and her sister Brie are of Italian descent, so it would have been a fun addition to the show, but instead, neither woman was featured.

Nikki Bella was supposed to win the Women’s Tag Team Championships with her sister Brie at WrestleMania, but the two women were unable to do this together because of her injury.

Nikki instead was there to announce that Paige would be taking her place, and she then went on to win the titles with her sister and has since been able to successfully defend them.

Paige and Brie Bella are living the dream that Nikki Bella always wanted for her sister and she is no closer to being cleared to make her return.
