Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) is the reigning AEW World Champion. He won this title by defeating Darby Allin in the main event of Double or Nothing 2026. The 30-year-old is one of All Elite Wrestling’s most important names, and he is undoubtedly a modern-day great.

AEW has been teasing MJF vs. Andrade for the World Title for a long time. The Salt of the Earth came face-to-face with Rush on this week’s Dynamite. The La Facción Ingobernable leader is going to challenge Friedman for the gold on the next episode of Dynamite. This match has the potential to blow the roof off.

Rush and Andrade have a deep history. They worked together several years back in Mexico and have a close relationship in real life. A few hours back on X, the former WWE United States Champion asked his friend to humiliate the World Champion next week.

“How you know? Maxx Easy night carnal!! humíllalo al perro!!” wrote the Don Callis Family member.

In response, Friedman told the former WWE star to stay in his lane.

“Stay in your lane,” he wrote.

MJF says AEW president Tony Khan has become a great leader

Maxwell Jacob Friedman recently made an appearance on the Ariel Helwani Show. He stayed in character during this conversation, but he praised Tony Khan. He said that the 43-year-old has become an incredible leader.

“He’s become one of the best minds in wrestling, man. And he’s been a great leader. You can talk all of the sh*t you want about him. Why? I don’t know. Because he gave you an alternative so you wouldn’t only be eating one type of food. You have options now. I don’t know why anybody would be mad about options…I think he’s become an incredible leader too, man. He always was, but I just think he is really, really just — as we all do, we level up, we evolve as we age,” he said. [H/T: WON]

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for MJF. Hopefully, his World Title reign will be lengthy, and he will end this year on a strong note.
