NFL analyst Mike Florio mocked Cleveland Cavaliers coach Kenny Atkinson after his team’s 130-93 loss to the New York Knicks in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Monday. The loss meant the Cavaliers were swept out of the playoffs 4-0 by the Knicks.
Florio aimed his dig at Atkinson on X.

Florio’s tweet referenced Atkinson’s comments about analytical data from the Eastern Conference Finals’ first three games. When Cleveland was down 3-0, Atkinson said that his team should have been winning the series analytically.
“I think analytically, I think we’ve won the — I said three out of three [games in the series], we’re two out of three in the expected wins,” Atkinson said on Sunday. “I don’t know if you guys follow that — the expected score. We’ve won two out of three.”
The Knicks will face the winner of the Western Conference finals between the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder, with the series locked at 2-2.

Kenny Atkinson believes he will return as Cavaliers HC next season

After the Cavaliers crashed out of the playoffs brutally, there were rumors that Kenny Atkinson might be fired. However, Atkinson still believes he will keep his job at Cleveland next season.
“That’s a question for Koby (Altman) and Dan (Gilbert),” Atkinson said when asked about his job security. “It’s hard for me to sit here and speak for someone else. … Listen, I have confidence. In myself, in the group. The roster talk is for down the line. So, just keep trusting.”
The Cavaliers hired Atkinson in June 2024. His team lost to the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference semifinals last season.
