The AEW World Championship will be on the line this weekend on Collision. The title will be contested over between two of the so-called “Four Pillars” of All Elite Wrestling, defending champ Darby Allin, and his challenger, Sammy Guevara.
Darby Allin has been on a nonstop roll ever since he captured the AEW Men’s World Title from MJF last month at Dynamite: Spring BreakThru. He has proven himself to be a true fighting champion, defending his strap every week against a star-studded array of challengers, including Tommaso Ciampa, Brody King, Kevin Knight, PAC, and Konosuke Takeshita. Now, the daredevil has been called out by one of his long-time All Elite Wrestling rivals, Sammy Guevara.
This Friday at the Zero Hour pre-show ahead of ROH Supercard of Honor 2026, The Spanish God faced and defeated Action Andretti in singles competition. Later, Lexy Nair caught up with Sammy in a backstage interview, during which the former TNT Champion issued a challenge to Darby to put his World Championship on the line against him this Saturday on AEW Collision. Guevara furthermore noted that he holds multiple prior victories against Allin, and voiced confidence in his odds of walking out of Collision this weekend as the new World Champion.
The last time the two men had shared the ring one-on-one was on the April 24, 2023 edition of Wednesday Night Dynamite, in the finals of the “Four Pillars” tournament, a series of matches planned by MJF to decide whether Allin, Guevara or Jack Perry would be challenging him for his World Title at Double or Nothing that year. Friedman would end up having to defend the belt against all three of his peers at the pay-per-view, and barely managed to retain at the event.
Darby Allin will be defending his World Title at AEW Double or Nothing 2026
After successfully defending his All Elite Wrestling Men’s World Championship against Konosuke Takeshita this week on Wednesday Night Dynamite, Darby Allin called MJF out to officially sign the contract for their Title vs Hair match at AEW Double or Nothing. Despite his reluctance to put his hair on the line against the face-painted fan-favorite, Big Hebrew ultimately did put his pen to the paper, legitimizing the stipulation. He then brutally ambushed Darby and was going to tombstone him from the turnbuckles, but thankfully “The Jet” Kevin Knight arrived to make the save.

It remains to be seen whether Allin will have the privilege of shaving Friedman bald at Double or Nothing 2026.
