AEW star Will Ospreay is one of the most talented wrestlers in the modern era. He was inactive for a long time because he underwent surgery last year. However, he made an amazing comeback at Revolution 2026. He is currently in a captivating storyline with the Death Riders.

The Aerial Assassin recently began training with AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley and his group. A few weeks back, Samoa Joe offered the former International Champion a spot in his Opps faction. But Ospreay chose to side with Moxley. Joe saw this as a betrayal, and he is now determined to punish the English native.

The 2026 Owen Hart Cup will kick off at AEW Double or Nothing, and Will Ospreay vs. Samoa Joe will take place in the quarter-final. They have never had a one-on-one match before, and fans are excited to see this. The two wrestlers are amazing in the ring, and it seems like they are going to blow the roof off.

The Aerial Assassin made a huge revelation a few hours back on X. He broke character and wrote that he had always wanted to battle the Samoan Submission Machine.

“I’ve wanted this match for the longest time. Sunday 24th May. Queens, New York. The Road To Wembley starts,” read his statement.

AEW star Will Ospreay takes pride in not being a former WWE star

In a recent interview with Forbes’ Rob Wolkenbrod, Will Ospreay said he is proud to have made a name for himself without ever working for WWE. He, in fact, wants his story to inspire more young wrestlers from the United Kingdom.

“I was never made by WWE. I was never touched by them. I would hold such pride and honor in knowing that someone from England who never moved away from his country was able to do that. I really hope that inspires so many of the other UK lads and lasses over there that they don’t need to compromise on their beliefs or what they want, said Ospreay”

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the Aerial Assassin. Hopefully, he will become the AEW World Champion this year.
