    Blood clot in lungs caused Prateek Yadav’s death, reveals post-mortem report

    The post-mortem report of Prateek Yadav, son of late Mulayam Singh Yadav and half-brother of Akhilesh Yadav, revealed that the 38-year-old died due to a massive blockage in the blood vessels of the lungs. According to the autopsy findings, the provisional cause of death was recorded as “cardiorespiratory collapse due to massive pulmonary thromboembolism.” Doctors said a large blood clot blocked blood flow to the lungs, leading to failure of the heart and respiratory system. Prateek Yadav was found unconscious at his residence in Lucknow on Wednesday and was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. Read full story

    Tamil Nadu CM Vijay revokes astrologer’s appointment as OSD after allies raise objections

    Tamil Nadu chief minister Vijay revoked the appointment of his close aide and astrologer Rickey Radhan Pandit Vettrivel as Officer on Special Duty (Political), a day after the decision triggered criticism from opposition parties and allies who argued that personal beliefs should not influence governance. The Tamil Nadu government issued a circular revoking the appointment shortly after the Assembly floor test. Vettrivel had been appointed through an official government order issued on Tuesday and was assigned to assist the chief minister in political coordination and advisory functions within the Chief Minister’s Office.     Fuel crisis fallout: Air India suspends, reduces frequency on 29 international routes till August

    Air India announced the suspension and reduction of services on 29 international routes between June and August 2026 amid the ongoing West Asia conflict, rising jet fuel prices and airspace restrictions across key regions. The airline said the temporary changes were aimed at improving operational stability and minimising last-minute inconvenience to passengers as the Iran conflict and instability around the Strait of Hormuz continue to disrupt global aviation.     PM Modi asks SPG to cut convoy size by 50%, push use of EVs

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked the Special Protection Group (SPG) — the elite security corps that looks after his security — to try to reduce the number of cars in his convoy by 50%. Besides, he desired that the number of electric vehicles in the fleet be encouraged, but without buying new ones to avoid additional expenditure. The SPG has already started implementing the instruction, while ensuring there is no compromise on mandatory security guidelines laid down in the Blue Book. Read full story

    AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal urged India’s Gen Z population to demand accountability over the alleged NEET paper leak case, alleging that repeated examination leaks had shaken students’ confidence in the system. Addressing a press conference, the former Delhi chief minister called on young people to protest against those involved in paper leak cases and questioned the effectiveness of investigations by the Central Bureau of Investigation in earlier incidents.
