Palworld 1.0 update is now live, and it brings numerous changes that make the game feel almost brand new. The title finally comes out of its early access stage, and the 1.0 update almost reworks several in-game mechanics, alongside adding new ones. From new locations that players can explore to several new weapons and Pals, this update has tons to offer to the players.
In this article, we will highlight the 5 biggest features of the Palworld 1.0 update that every player has to know to excel in the game.
What are the major changes in Palworld 1.0?
The biggest features of the Palworld 1.0 update are as follows:
New areas and changes to the world:
Palworld 1.0 adds a brand new area called Sunreach for players to explore. It comprises many floating islands above Palpagos that contain new Pals, Tower Bosses, new ores, and many secrets for players to explore and find.

The World Tree is finally accessible, and it plays a major role in the game’s endgame and story. This area will finally reveal why the various factions fight over the towers, and is also home to the toughest challenges that you can find in the game.

In Palworld 1.0, Ancient Ruins have also been added throughout the map, containing exploration and minigames that reward players with items such as Schematics. Players can also find Watchtowers, which reveal the surrounding areas and act as fast-travel points.
Players will find seven new islands across the map, which feature unique biomes like volcanoes, deserts, and ruins. These islands are also home to some unique Pals, which are exclusive to these areas. Plus, several new small settlements can now be found across the map, which contain new NPCs and sub-missions.
Now, enemy bases can also be found on the sea, giving rise to new exploration and combat avenues.
New Pals
Palworld 1.0 introduces 47 brand new Pals and 25 variants. This brings the total Pal count to 287, allowing players to explore new combat teams, mounts, base workers, and breeding chains.

These Pals can be found in the new region of Sunreach and World Tree, alongside the newly revamped and rebalanced Wildlife Sanctuaries and other regions.

Awakening and Mutation systems
The new Awakening system will let players strengthen their favourite Pals beyond their previous limits. To do this, you will have to collect Radiant Gems from the depths of World Tree and use them to unlock your Pal’s hidden powers.
The Mutation system, on the other hand, will allow you to get Mutation Eggs. The Pals that hatch from these eggs will have better stats and unique passives, and will make breeding more interesting and engaging.
The new Cake recipes are the cornerstones of the Mutation system, and they provide the following benefits:
- Mushroom Cake: This increases the chances of newly born Pals to have higher stats.
- Vegetable Cake: This produces two Pal Eggs at once.
- Deluxe Vegetable Cake: This Cake increases the chances of Mutation to take place and the offspring Pals to have better stats.
- Special Cake: This Cake increases the chances of offspring Pals inheriting multiple passive skills from their parents.
New weapons, equipment, and combat changes
Palworld 1.0 brings in 13 new weapons alongside brand new equipment that brings a new dynamic to the combat system. The new in-game weapons are as follows:
- Mechanical Bow
- Combat SMG
- Prototype Shotgun
- Heavy Assault Rifle
- Tactical Grenade Launcher
- Laser Sword
- Beam Scatter
- Drone Launcher
- Plasma Rifle
- Beam Launcher
- Primitive Sword
- Metal Bat
- Enhanced Lily’s Spear
Alongside these weapons, new equipment like the Plasma Multicutter, Wing Pack, 44 new accessories, Ancient Armor, and Implants can also be found in-game. Two new ores called Soralite and Paloxite can now be found, which are required for many of these new weapons.

The movement and combat system has received a major overhaul for improved responsiveness and control. While in combat, players will now be able to attack while dashing, reload while dodging, and have better control over their aim even during combat rolls.
The active skills of almost every Pal have been reworked. Pals no longer feel underpowered, and their damage output can even exceed that of players when properly built.
Tower Bosses have also received many changes like unique arenas, new motions and skills, alongside revised stats. The behaviour of wild Pals has also changed quite a lot; they are more intelligent, and different species have gained new combat patterns.

Major base building improvements
Base building has received a major overhaul in the Palworld 1.0 update. Players will now be able to not only build their bases along shorelines, but also on the sea. New ancient civilization base structure, faux greenery, slanted triangular roofs, and various furniture will now give players more creative freedom to design their bases beautifully.
Work Pals now perform a lot more efficiently while doing haul and storage tasks. Chests now have a naming feature, and the crafting UI has received a search function and category filters.

New utility structures like the Ancient Material Synthesizer and High-Pressure Crude Oil Extractor will allow players to easily produce materials like ores and extract oil even without oilfields. Alongside these, clinics, adjustable work speed, better Monitoring Stands, and fast travel from base have also been added.
Repair Kits have been removed, and damaged structures are now automatically repaired by Handiwork Pals.
These are the five biggest features of Palworld 1.0 that every player must know. Alongside these, there are still several changes for players to discover in-game.
