The new regulation in Pokemon Champions, Set M-B, saw the return of several Pokemon. However, there are several returning items as well to provide a bit of variety. These include weather prolonging items, as well as items that give certain moves power boosts. As a result a lot of Pokemon that were not very viable can see more use now.
So, in this guide, we will highlight the best new items making their debut in Regulation Set M-B. Additionally, we will not be including any of the Mega Stones on this list since these will only work for specific Pokemon that hold them.
Best new items for Regulation M-B of Pokemon Champions
1) Life Orb

Arguably, the most important item on this list, Life Orb gives a 30% damage boost to any move used by the holder. While this deals 10% recoil damage to the user, more often then not it rarely matters. Since the Pokemon using the item are meant to deal a lot of damage before going down, the recoil is ignorable.
Additionally, certain Pokemon with Abilities like Sheer Force or Magic Guard can avoid the recoil damage altogether.
2) Light Clay

The Light Clay is an item that increases the number of turns a screen move (Reflect, Light Screen, and Aurora Veil) can stay up. Usually these moves last for five turns after they are set. But with a held Light Clay, they now last for eight instead.
The best users of the Light Clay item right now will be Alolan Ninetales (who can set up Aurora Veil) and the returning Grimmsnarl (who gets +1 priority on Reflect and Light Screen thanks to its Ability Prankster).
3) Rocks that increase weather turns

We decided to bunch all of these items under the same entry since they perform the same function. Each of these increases the weather set up by the user from five turns to eight. This is regardless of whether the weather was set up by an Ability or manually.
Considering how important weather has been in Pokemon Champions, especially with the dominance of sun teams, expect these items to see a lot of use.
4) Iron Ball

The Iron Ball is a more niche item, but it has a lot of potential in this game. Pokemon Champions removed IVs (Individual Values), which could be used to make subtle changes in almost identical Pokemon. One of those changes that was common in VGC, was having 0 IVs on your designated Trick Room setter so that either it would go last or remove opposing Trick Room instead.
The return of Iron Ball allows these semi Trick Room teams to become slightly more viable. Since this item halves the holder’s Speed, it will always be able to set or remove Trick Room last.
5) Wide Lens

This item provides a 10% accuracy boost. While this may not seem like much, this basically makes any move with 90% or 95% accuracy, hit every time. So, the Wide Lens works for players looking to focus on hitting their moves more often. Expect Maushold to be holding this item a lot when using its signature move Population Bomb.
