Following the WWE Clash in Italy 2026 Premium Live Event, the Stamford-based promotion wasted no time in pivoting plans for the next PLE, Night of Champions, which will emanate live from Saudi Arabia on June 27th.
King and Queen of the Ring Tournaments have been the main attraction for the NOC premium live events for the past few years, and the winner of the respective tournament, along with earning the crowns, gets a direct shot at World titles at SummerSlam.

Every week, World Wrestling Entertainment has been holding tournament matches to determine the final two stars who will compete in Saudi Arabia for the ultimate title. The June 8th episode of Monday Night RAW was yet another episode that had bracket bouts.
In the Queen of the Ring bracket, the fans saw Becky Lynch, Liv Morgan, Chelsea Green, and Alexa Bliss compete for a semifinal spot on the red brand show. All four women had their moments, given their championship experience.
The Man was one of the favorites to win this year’s Queen of the Ring tournament, but fans saw her being eliminated early as the Women’s World Champion, Liv Morgan, seized the big win and is now one step closer to her goal of capturing all the gold.
Lynch’s early elimination from the tournament is indeed shocking; not many fans saw it coming. In this article, we will take a look at three potential reasons the Big Time Becks has been knocked out of the QOTR tournament early.
#3. Liv Morgan can not afford to lose
The Miracle Kid is currently the top woman on Monday Night RAW, given that she is the Women’s World Champion. The Judgment Day member kicked off this year strong as she first won the 2026 Women’s Royal Rumble and punched her ticket to WrestleMania 42 and chose to face Stephanie Vaquer at the Granddaddy of the All.
At Show of Shows, Liv maintained her momentum and came up with a perfect game plan, which helped her defeat the Dark Angel and be crowned the brand-new WWE Women’s World Champion. However, it’s already been 50 days since Morgan became champion, but she hasn’t had any title defense yet.
Her entering the Queen of the Ring tournament was the only major thing she has had since the Showcase of the Immortals, and being the brand’s main women’s champion, Liv Morgan couldn’t afford to lose. Hence, this could be a strong reason why Becky Lynch had to be eliminated early from the tournament.
#2. Still has a WWE mid-card run left in her
The Big Time Becks has been elevating the Women’s Intercontinental Championship for a while; she has booked major title bouts and has been the Women’s IC champion three times.
Becky Lynch recaptured the Women’s Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 42 by beating AJ Lee clean, earning her name in books as one of the greatest mid-card women’s titleholders already.
However, she lost her title too soon at the hands of newly signed Monday Night RAW superstar Sol Ruca, who beat the Man in their Backlash rematch at WWE Clash in Italy 2026 premium live event. They have had two matches so far.
The Stamford-based promotion has a long-standing tradition of having trilogy feuds, and Triple H and his WWE creative team may continue this tradition by booking a third match between Ruca and Lynch at WWE SummerSlam 2026 premium live event.
Her trilogy with Sol Ruca may be another potential reason why Lynch was knocked off early.
#1. Doesn’t need a tournament win to get a title shot
Becky Lynch is unquestionably one of the greatest women’s professional wrestlers of all time, and over the years she has compiled a massive Hall of Fame career.
She has elevated to a level where she doesn’t need any tournament to get a title shot; her legendary resume is enough to get her a shot at the main title, and there are a lot of women in the WWE QOTR bracket who need the win over The Man to have the spotlight on them. This may be another reason why the Big Time Becks were eliminated from the annual tournament so early.
