American BMW and Mini EV drivers can enjoy discounted charging at Ionna’s stations until September 30, 2026, the companies announced yesterday.
Owners who initiate charging with Plug & Charge or the My BMW app will get a 20% discount applied directly to the final bill, without needing additional cards, subscriptions, or manual activation of the offer.

That being said, it’s worth reiterating that the discount will not be applied if drivers use a debit or credit card to pay for the session directly at the stall. Customers must have Plug & Charge or a Shell Recharge account set up in the My BMW app to get the lower price.
Ionna charges between $0.33-$0.39/kWh at its stations for everybody, so a 20% discount leads to a price that hovers between $0.27/kWh and $0.32/kWh for BMW and Mini EV owners. This is Ionna’s second special pricing campaign, after the 10% discount offered to GM EV drivers earlier this year.

What’s more, the up-and-coming EV charging network said it will charge just $0.20/kWh for the first week at every new location it opens up this year, as an incentive to bring people to its fast-growing network. This year alone, Ionna turned on 212 new charging bays, bringing the total number of individual bays to nearly 1,000 spread across 100 stations.
The company is not stopping here, though. By the end of the decade, Ionna wants to have no fewer than 30,000 DC fast charging bays capable of delivering up to 400 kW of power through a CCS or NACS cable. It currently has 4,700 bays contracted, and roughly 1,500 are already in construction.
Ionna was founded in 2024 by several automakers, energizing its first stalls in December 2024. After a slow first few months, the network ramped up installations, reaching 100 locations after 14 months.
