Citroën Is Bringing Back The 2CV Because EVs Got Too Expensive
Citroën is reviving the 2CV as a small, European-built EV priced below $17,500. The new 2CV is aimed at making EVs affordable again, not chasing range or luxury. It could undercut the Renault Twingo EV and Dacia’s upcoming budget electric car. Citroën wants its upcoming cheap city EV to be a modern reinterpretation of the classic 2CV after previously denying it. In keeping with its predecessor, the cheap car that got France motoring after the Second World War, the new model promises to be very affordable, with a starting price under €15,000, or around $17,500. This is before any incentives…
Specialized launches impressive full-suspension Vado 3 X commuter e-bike
Just a month after unveiling its new Vado 3 and Vado 3 EVO urban e-bike lineup, Specialized is already expanding the family with a new model that pushes even further into adventure-bike territory. Meet the new Vado 3 X. While the original Vado 3 was aimed squarely at urban commuting and the Vado 3 EVO added more all-terrain versatility, the new Vado 3 X essentially takes the EVO concept and dials it up another notch with the addition of full suspension. The headline change is obvious: the Vado 3 X now features 120 mm of rear suspension travel paired with…
Researchers are offering a new way to understand why aging is so closely connected to chronic illness. In a review published in Aging-US titled “Aging as a multifactorial disorder with two stages,” scientists from University College London and Queen Mary University of London describe a model suggesting that diseases linked to aging may develop through two separate but connected phases over the course of life. The review was written by David Gems and Alexander Carver from University College London, along with Yuan Zhao from Queen Mary University of London. Their work combines ideas from evolutionary biology with findings from modern…

Microsoft is letting Office users remove an annoying Copilot button
Microsoft is rolling out Office app updates next week that allow users to disable a floating Copilot button. The button appeared in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in recent weeks, and floats above the bottom right-hand section of spreadsheets or documents. It has angered many Excel users in particular, because it obstructs cells and you can’t fully disable it.“While we are seeing increased engagement with Copilot in Office apps with this update, we are also hearing the need for more control over how Copilot appears,” admits Katie Kivett, partner group product manager at Microsoft. “While one of our goals is to…

The startup has now raised $3 million in pre-seed funding to scale its platform, and is currently accepting waitlist sign-ups. Unlike traditional streaming platforms, Maka Kids doesn’t have recommendation algorithms, ads, or auto-play. Instead, it is designed to offer a predictable experience that supports learning, creativity, and emotional growth. Maka Kids was founded by Isabel Sheinman and…
Every major economy is staring at the same problem right now. Artificial intelligence is consuming electricity at a pace that grids were never designed to handle. In the US, capacity market prices in PJM, the country’s largest grid operator, have risen more than tenfold in two years, with data-centre growth identified as a primary driver. In Europe, utilities are scrambling to upgrade transmission infrastructure fast enough to keep pace with hyperscalers’ demand. The International Energy Agency (IEA) projects global data-centre electricity consumption could approach 1,000 TWh by the end of this decade. Renewable energy is largely there, but the ability to…
