Telegram ban not foolproof against VPNs, but curbs NEET fraud market: NTA chief | Education News
3 min readNew DelhiUpdated: Jun 16, 2026 06:50 PM IST The National Testing Agency (NTA) Director General, Abhishek Singh, on Tuesday defended the government’s decision to block Telegram access in India, ahead of the NEET-UG re-examination scheduled for June 21. He admitted that the move is not foolproof. Some operators could still use VPNs to get around the block. However, without a large pool of students accessing these channels, the fraud network loses its market. “Even though they can continue operating channels using VPNs, if there is no clientele, the fraud will be prevented, and students will be protected from…

Canes legend Eric Staal speaks out on brother Jordan’s Conn Smythe run to Stanley Cup title
Few would’ve predicted Carolina Hurricanes’ Jordan Staal would end up lifting the Stanley Cup trophy at the start of the playoffs, let alone winning the Conn Smythe trophy as well. The 37-year-old Hurricanes captain, who has been an integral part of the franchise over the past 14 years played a key role in helping his side secure its second Stanley Cup trophy. The last time the Hurricanes lifted the trophy was back in 2006, when Jordan’s brother Eric was part of the team. Twenty years on, another Staal brother has etched his name in hockey history. “There’s a lot of…
Tesla ‘Robotaxis’ are not crashing because they are not running
Tesla didn’t report a single at-fault “Robotaxi” crash in the latest NHTSA autonomous-vehicle data — its only fresh incident was a Model Y getting rear-ended while stopped, clearly the other driver’s fault. That sounds like good news for Tesla’s safety record. But live fleet data points to the real reason the crashes have dried up: Tesla’s robotaxis are barely running, and the active fleet is shrinking a year into the program. A clean crash report — because there’s almost nothing on the road Under NHTSA’s Standing General Order, every company operating an automated driving system has to report crashes. Tesla’s…

Robinhood’s note on 10% layoffs shows blaming AI isn’t cutting it
It appears using AI as a cover story for cutting jobs is fast falling out of fashion. Unlike many of his tech industry peers who have cut thousands of jobs this year citing the need to restructure their teams to make the most of AI, Robinhood’s CEO Vlad Tenev conspicuously made no mention of AI in his note to employees announcing that the company is letting go 10% of its full-time employees, or about 290 people. Nor did the company’s regulatory filing announcing the move, which instead framed the cuts as a restructuring exercise. Still, Tenev did say the company…
