The Atlanta Braves completed a three-game sweep of the Los Angeles Dodgers after a 1-0 shutout win against the defending World Series winners on Thursday.
Braves ace Chris Sale dominated the Dodgers hitters, including four-time MVP Shohei Ohtani, during his start in the series finale. The Dodgers phenom struggled against Sale’s fastball and struck out on a 100.1 mph heater for his second strikeout in the third inning.

Sale’s fastball to strike out Ohtani was the seventh fastest pitch of his career. He pitched a complete-game shutout, striking out 11 batters while allowing only five hits and no walks over nine innings.
Ohtani, who is on a record $700 million contract, went hitless for the first time in the series on Thursday as he went 0-for-4 at the plate. The Dodgers hitters failed to back Yoshinobu Yamamoto on the mound in the series finale.
