Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav inaugurated the fourth new unit of Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL) in the Malanpur industrial area.

The unit, set up at a cost of over Rs 450 crore, will now house Asia’s largest soap factory in Malanpur, providing employment to hundreds of people in the area, a company official said.
“We not only signed MoUs, but also implemented them. The industry being established here today is Asia’s largest soap industry. 4,000 soaps will be produced here every minute. Mosquitoes may be found anywhere in the country, but Goodnight produced here will ensure protection from them,” Yadav said, adding that Godrej has instilled trust in the people.
“Today, a new gift worth Rs 450 crore is being received. An example of Made-in-MP and Faith-in-MP is being set in the state,” he said.
Bhind has seen its share of bad times in the past. “However, today, the entire region and the state has transformed under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he said.Yadav said that he visited region 8-10 months ago and performed the groundbreaking ceremony for an Elixir Industries plant worth Rs 1,500 crore.
Yadav said normally only 10 per cent of all MoUs inked are implemented, but Madhya Pradesh is a state where more than 30 per cent of investments have been realised. “Investments worth over Rs 10 lakh crore are materialising in various ways.”

Many factories have also begun production. Madhya Pradesh’s foreign export potential has increased to Rs 76,000 crore, the CM said, adding that even though there is no sea here, “our products are reaching across the seven seas”.
“I hope the Godrej Group will soon open its fifth unit in Malanpur. It should initiate a training programme for skill development among local employees in Bhind district,” he said.
Yadav said that GIS 2027 will be held in January, and PM Modi will inaugurate it.
Madhya Pradesh Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar, Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Prahlad Patel were also present on the occasion.
Nisaba Godrej, Executive Chairperson of Godrej Consumer Products, said Godrej’s relationship with Malanpur goes back 35 years.
“My father, Adi Godrej, started a soap manufacturing unit here in 1991. Godrej No. 1 soap, manufactured in Malanpur, has become a leading brand in the country today,” she said.
Godrej has developed special products to prevent malaria and other mosquito-borne diseases. During this period, a decrease in the number of malaria patients was observed in Madhya Pradesh, she said, adding that the company is ready to work with the state government to achieve malaria-free status by 2030.
