Sonal Dinusha continued his magnificent form, being the only dominant and consistent batter from Sri Lanka in this series. He slammed his second hundred in the ongoing second Test against India in Colombo.
After the visitors put up 503/9 declared in the first innings, Sonal Dinusha has led their fight incredibly well. On the fourth ball of the 86th over by Prasidh Krishna on day four, the left-hander played a fierce pull on a short delivery outside the off stump. He smashed it clean in the air and pulled it in front of square for a boundary to get to three figures in style.
The Sri Lankan kissed his bat, took his helmet off and raised his hands in celebration, acknowledging the applause from the dressing room and crowd.

Sonal Dinusha’s gritty and fighting knock eventually came to an end as he was dismissed for 103 by Saransh Jain, also bringing an end to Sri Lanka’s first innings as they were bowled out for 290, trailing by 213 runs. The left-hander’s century included eight boundaries and three sixes.

Sri Lanka may have lost the opening Test and are behind in the second, but have managed to find a huge positive in Sonal Dinusha. The 25-year-old has left a solid impression and has easily been among the best batters in this series.
Along with Devdutt Padikkal, he has scored hundreds in back-to-back Tests in this series. In the first Test, he made 100 runs off 168 balls in the first innings while batting at number six. The youngster backed it up with 84 runs off 128 balls in the second innings.
Dinusha is the second-highest run-getter in this series. The left-hander has scored 287 runs from three innings at an average of 95.66 with two hundreds and a half-century. It has been a glorious start to his Test career. In just five games and eight innings so far, he has scored 473 runs at an average of 67.57 with two hundreds and as many half-centuries. He has emerged as a promising talent for Sri Lanka.
