WNBA fans had fun online after Brittney Griner reached a career milestone after blocking Angel Reese. The Connecticut Sun hosted the Atlanta Dream on Thursday for their second matchup of the regular season.

Early in the first quarter, Griner made history by reaching 900 career blocks. The 6-foot-9 star became the first player in league history to reach 900 blocks. Reese tried to shoot a layup to score the Dream’s first points of the game. However, the veteran star towered over her and emphatically rejected her layup.

WNBA fans had fun on X after Reese was blocked. Here are some of what the fans said online.

“and ofc it’s her who got blocked 😂😂😂” a fan said.

More fans roasted Reese on X.

Angel Reese Avenged Herself And Blocked Brittney Griner

Angel Reese did not let Brittney Griner’s early block affect her game. In the second quarter, she held her own against the towering frontcourt star and rejected her twice in one possession.

Griner tried to go for an easy reverse layup over Madina Okot, and Reese came to help her on defense, rejecting the Sun star’s layup. The 35-year-old secured the offensive board and had another attempt near the basket. However, the former LSU star stayed committed on defense and blocked her from behind.

Following the sequence, Griner tried to get the ball to her teammates. Reese had other plans and snatched the ball away from her opponent’s hands to start a fast break before she was fouled on her trip down the court.

Reese isn’t known to be a rim protector, averaging only 0.7 blocks per game this season. However, she steps up on that end of the floor if her team needs a defensive boost.

Angel Reese is mostly known for her elite rebounding skills. She’s one of the best players to dominate the glass, averaging 11.9 rebounds per game in her first season with the Dream.
