Molly Sims is getting real about Hollywood spewing fake beauty secrets.

During a recent interview with US Magazine, the 53-year-old model slammed people in Hollywood for lying about how they maintain their camera-ready look.

“Early on, other models would help you. Like, ‘I’m getting shots in my a–,’ or ‘I’m only going to drink grapefruit juice,'” she explained. “Hollywood people would say, ‘I just drink a lot of water, and I slept eight hours.’ I’m like, ‘No, you f—ing didn’t.'”

She went on to say that while out to dinner with a group of girlfriends recently, “all we did was talk about everybody’s facelift.”

“We’re like, ‘She looks amazing. She did the upper lip, the lower. She did the CO2,'” she said. “It’s refreshing for a woman in Kentucky or Ohio to know that it’s not just drinking water and getting a good night’s sleep. You too can be on the peptide.”

The model also spoke about how her approach to her appearance has evolved from her early days in the modeling industry to now, as a woman in her 50s.

Sims recalled coming into the industry “during a difficult era called ‘heroin chic,'” saying the expectation was to be “about 20 pounds underweight and very goth,” noting the scrutiny she received was “devastating.”

“I went from Vanderbilt with my sorority sisters, where you’re dipping your fries in a Wendy’s Frosty and you think nothing of it,” she said. “I was from a completely different world, and also the business had changed. [The] beautiful, normal body weight was not [in style] when I entered, and it gave me a lot of pause and a lot of tears.”

Nowadays, when Sims works out, her ultimate goal is not to look younger, but “to look the best I can at every age,” saying, “I don’t want to be skinny; I want to be healthy.”

Sims left Vanderbilt University in the early 1990s to pursue modeling, and broke through into mainstream recognition when she posed for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in 2000, returning to the magazine in 2001, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2020 and 2024.

She made her most recent appearance in the magazine in 2026, posing in a number of two-piece sets, including orange, pink and red string bikinis.

“If only I could tell the 20-something version of me shooting her first @si_swimsuit issue that she’d still be here at 52… feeling more beautiful and confident in her skin than ever before 🥹Thank you @mj_day and my entire SI family!!! ❤️” she shared on Instagram alongside photos from the magazine.

In February 2023, Sims took to her Instagram stories to share how she keeps her body bikini ready, noting her secret is bone broth, and she showed a picture of a mug filled with it.

She wrote, “Anti-ageing [sic], good for digestion and gut, helps my joints after workouts, better sleep… this has been game changing for me.”
