Audi’s midsize electric SUV drove further than advertised. The 2027 Audi Q6 e-tron has an EPA-estimated driving range of up to 301 miles, but in the real world, it traveled even further.
2027 Audi Q6 e-tron beats EPA range in the real world
Audi introduced several big updates to the Q6 e-tron for the 2027 model year, including a new infotainment system, the return of physical buttons, and improved regenerative braking for better efficiency.
The 2027 Audi Q6 e-tron with standard 20″ tires has an EPA-estimated driving range of up to 301 miles, but in everyday driving conditions, it will likely drive even further.
During Edmunds’ EV Range Test, the 2027 Audi Q6 e-tron covered 337 miles on a single charge, beating its EPA-estimated range of 301 miles, or about 12%. The extra 36 miles is enough for at least another day or two of commuting.
Audi’s electric SUV was also more efficient. The 2027 Q6 e-tron achieved an energy consumption of 29.3 kWh per 100 miles, beating its EPA estimate of 35 kWh per 100 miles by around 16%.
The Edmunds EV Range Test is designed to offer a more accurate estimate of a vehicle’s driving range and efficiency in real-world, everyday driving situations.
It consists of 60% city and 40% highway driving with an average speed of 40 mph. The team stays within 5 mph of the speed limit, the climate control is on auto at 72 degrees, and the vehicle is in its most efficient drive mode.
With a real-world driving range of 337 miles, the Audi Q6 e-tron is among the longest-range luxury electric SUVs that Edmunds has tested.
The 2026 BMW iX xDrive and Cadillac Optiq still beat it, traveling 338 miles and 339 miles, respectively. However, the Q6 e-tron drove further than the 2025 Porsche Macan 4S and Macan Turbo, which covered 323 miles and 301 miles during the test, respectively.
Starting at $64,500, the Q6 e-tron is also considerably cheaper than the Porsche Macan 4S ($89,900) and Macan Turbo ($84,600).
Measuring 187.8″ long, 76.2″ wide, and 66.6″ tall, with a wheelbase of 113.7″, the Q6 e-tron is about the same size as the BMW iX3 and Porsche Macan EV.
