SummerSlam saw a number of injuries to WWE stars, but while Brie Bella’s was one of the biggest, it seems that Sami Zayn‘s has managed to skate under the radar.
Zayn revealed the injury to CM Punk on SmackDown this week, where he revealed that he would fight him if he hadn’t broken a bone in his hand. While Punk laughed, fans were left worried by how long Zayn could be out of action.
Thanks for the submission!
At present, it’s unclear if this injury happened at SummerSlam or in the live events that have taken place recently. All that is known is that Zayn is sidelined due to injury.
Sami Zayn came up short at WWE SummerSlam
Zayn still had a major role on WWE SmackDown despite being injured, since the former champion confronted Nick Aldis for adding both Gunther and Kevin Owens to his match at SummerSlam.
Kevin Owens was able to win the match and earn a shot at CM Punk and the Undisputed WWE Championship, which didn’t sit well with Zayn. He later ranted to Johnny Gargano about his recent issues and how he had been screwed out of his title shot, but CM Punk then approached him again, and he admitted that if he hadn’t broken a bone in his hand, then he would do something about it.
It seems that Zayn is just looking for some justice after being screwed out of his title shot and not being able to win back his World Championship that he rightly won in Saudi Arabia. It’s been a tough few weeks for Zayn, and it seems that the only person he has to help him at the moment is Johnny Gargano, but he is still planking backstage.
The former champion has been in that position since Tommaso Ciampa left the company several months ago, and he is yet to stand back up, even taking pictures at fan events in the same position. It’s hoped that at some point this story will lead to Johnny Gargano stepping back into the ring and finally doing what he does best as Zayn’s only ally.
