“Love you more than you could ever know”

The Los Angeles Dodgers slipped to a seventh straight loss against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday. Keeping the on-field struggles aside, Mookie Betts celebrated his wife, Brianna’s, birthday in style.

Taking to Instagram, the six-time Gold Glove winner shared a loving message to mark Brianna’s special day. Betts penned a touching public tribute, calling her his “honey” and promising a celebration after his workday.

“HAPPY BIRTHDAY HONEY!!! I LOVE you more than you could ever know! I hope you have a very special day today! As soon as I’m back from work, dinner on me,” he wrote.

Mookie and Brianna have been together for nearly two decades. The couple’s relationship began during their teenage years in Nashville. They met while Brianna was in seventh grade and Mookie was a year senior.

They welcomed their firstborn, Kynlee Ivory, in November 2018. After 15 years together, they officially tied the knot in a lavish ceremony at the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, in December 2021. The Betts family has grown since, with their first son, Kaj Lynn, born in April 2023, and his infant brother Khari Betts the newest addition.

Mookie Betts says baseball rivalries do not affect him anymore

The Los Angeles Dodgers have sat on the pinnacle of the baseball world since their 2024 World Series victory. Heading into October, they will once again be regarded as the team to beat as teams attempt to halt their three-peat run.

Speaking to Rolling Stone in an exclusive published on Friday, Mookie Betts stated that the nature of opponents doesn’t scare him any further.

“At this point in my career, I genuinely don’t care,” Betts said. “When I was younger, I really cared about the Red Sox-Yankees [rivalry]. I was young in the sport, and when you’re playing the Yankees, you knew things were going to be heated. And now you can argue the Padres [are our big rivals], but I really don’t care, dude. It’s all a game. And that’s just how you have to handle it.”

Betts is batting .233 with 13 home runs and 36 RBIs in 79 games for the Dodgers this year, a significant down season for the former MVP.
