Kimi Antonelli arrived in the F1 paddock as a teenage prodigy and has more than lived up to the hype, especially in his second season in the sport. The Mercedes driver sits at the top of the drivers’ championship at the halfway stage in 2026, and has broken numerous records along the way, especially age-related ones.

Antonelli claimed two big records in his debut season in 2025, becoming the youngest race leader and the youngest to claim a fastest lap in a race. But the standard of the feats he has achieved in 2026 has gone to another level, with him now driving the dominant Mercedes car in the new regulations era. The teenager has put himself in some impressive record books, and he is still only 35 races into his career.

So, let’s take a look at all the records the 19-year-old has broken already in 2026.

    Youngest F1 pole sitter

Kimi Antonelli broke the record for the youngest pole sitter in F1 history when he secured the P1 spot for the Chinese GP in 2026 at the age of 19. With this feat, he beat the record set at the 2008 Italian Grand Prix by Sebastian Vettel, who was 21 at the time.

    Youngest F1 World Championship leader

The race after China saw Antonelli win again at the Japanese GP, as he then took the lead in the drivers’ standings by overtaking George Russell. This meant he became the youngest driver ever to sit on top of the drivers’ standings, beating Lewis Hamilton’s record, as Hamilton was 22 when he took the lead in the championship at the 2007 Spanish GP.

Youngest to claim five Grand Prix wins in a row

Antonelli became the youngest F1 driver ever to claim five race wins in a row, doing so from the Chinese GP to the Monaco GP in 2026. He obliterated the previous record by a good five years, with it previously being held by Max Verstappen, who did this for the first time at the age of 24 in 2022.

Antonelli is also the youngest to have five race wins to his name in total, and has since increased his tally to six this year.

Youngest to achieve a Grand Slam

Kimi Antonelli broke the record for the youngest-ever Grand Slam, or Grand Chelem, winner in F1, doing so as a 19-year-old at the Monaco GP this year. This is achieved when a driver secures pole position, leads every lap, wins the race and sets the fastest lap.

Max Verstappen held this record before, having achieved his first Grand Slam at the age of 23 at the 2021 Austrian GP.

    Youngest F1 Sprint winner

Antonelli became the youngest F1 Sprint winner when he claimed victory at the British GP Sprint this year. Oscar Piastri held the record before him, having won the 2023 Qatar GP Sprint at the age of 22.

    Youngest Monaco Grand Prix winner

The Monaco GP is inarguably the most prestigious race on the F1 calendar, and is also recognized as the crown jewel of the calendar. Antonelli claimed victory in the principality on May 23 to become the youngest driver to win the historic Grand Prix at the age of 19.

The record was held by Lewis Hamilton before him, who was 23 when he won the race in 2008.

Most F1 race wins by a teenager

Kimi Antonelli holds the record for the most race wins as a teenager, as he currently sits on six. Max Verstappen is the only other teenager to win an F1 race as a teenager, but the Dutchman only ever managed a maiden victory before turning 20. This also means that Antonelli is the only teenager in F1 history with multiple race wins.

At the end of the season, Kimi Antonelli has the opportunity to break one of the most prestigious records in F1 history, as he can become the youngest F1 world champion. The Italian driver would be only 20 if he does so, and would break Sebastian Vettel‘s long-standing record, as the German claimed his maiden title in 2010 at the age of 23.
