During the period, coal dispatch grew to 86.33 MT, at a growth rate of 17.34 percent, according to the Ministry of Coal, highlighting the Ministry’s sustained efforts to ensure consistent supply and operational stability in the sector.

Cumulative coal production stood at 302.24 MT (Provisional) for the first four months of FY 2026-27. Whilst the cumulative coal dispatch registered a growth of 5.87 per cent over the same period of the last financial year, rising to 354.70 MT (Provisional).
According to the Ministry, Coal India Limited (CIL) contributed 63.67 MT to the monthly production figures, marking an 8.42 per cent growth over July 2025. On the distribution side, CIL dispatched 63.67 MT of coal during the month, a 17.43 per cent increase over the same month last year. This pushed cumulative coal dispatch for FY 2026–27 up by 6.81 per cent through July compared to the corresponding period last fiscal year.

The Ministry states that it remains committed to achieving sustainable growth, improving coal availability and reducing dependence on imports.
