    AEW and Tony Khan declare war against WWE right before SummerSlam 2026

    AEW President Tony Khan made a bold move and seemingly declared war against WWE ahead of SummerSlam 2026.

    The Stamford-based wrestling promotion is gearing up for its two-night Premium Live Event, set for August 1 and 2, at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It will feature some of the biggest wrestling stars in the industry, like Roman Reigns, CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, Charlotte Flair, and many more. Moreover, WWE has assembled a stacked match card for both nights.

    Furthermore, with SummerSlam taking place this weekend, Tony Khan moved AEW Collision’s broadcast to Thursday, rather than its regular Saturday slot, as he has done in the past. Yet he seems unwilling to back down and has recently made a shocking move. In a photo that surfaced online, AEW purchased a digital billboard advertisement showing a Dynamite ad directly across from U.S. Bank Stadium just days before SummerSlam.     WWE veteran on choosing to work with Tony Khan

    Former WWE writer and veteran Vince Russo appeared on Talk is Jericho to speak about the interview he did with Tony Khan. He praised Khan for his thought process and for openly sharing his ideas, and Russo himself wanted to understand his business philosophy. Moreover, he said that WWE CCO Triple H would never do such an interview, which was a massive problem.

    “I wanted to interview Tony Khan. And Chris, here’s why I wanted to interview Khan. Bro, I wanted to really understand how he thinks. You know, there’s a reason why Tony does what he does. Bro, I asked Tony a lot of tough questions and the reason why was I wanted to understand Tony why do you do the things you do? I just want to get a better understanding and also made suggestions to him and he listened and we had a great great conversation. Bro that’s another big problem with with with wrestling today. You got a guy like Triple H. Obviously they’re having a problem creatively. Is Triple H ever going to have a conversation with me? Absolutely not,” said Russo.

    On the other hand, with Khan seemingly taking WWE ahead of SummerSlam, it remains to be seen whether they will retaliate in some way.
