    Toyota Kirolskar Motor announces the launch of its latest generation Hilux in India

    Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has announced the launch of their new, ninth-generation Hilux claiming that the product would aid in strengthening the company’s SUV portfolio in India.

    The Hilux, according to TKM, is based on the IMV platform and the vehicle’s design follows the “Cyber Sumo” concept, from which influenced the bold front-end draws a wide grille, sculpted hood, and muscular proportions that the company claims enhances stability, strength, and road presence.

    “The all-new Hilux is tougher, smarter and more expressive, a reflection of our commitment to continuously evolve to meet the rising aspirations of our customers. Backed by Toyota’s authentic engineering and legendary durability, the new Hilux combines bold design and powerful performance representing the growing convergence of utility and lifestyle.

    India is witnessing a significant shift in mobility preferences. Customers are looking for vehicles that go beyond transportation to support diverse lifestyles, professional needs and the pursuit of new experiences. At Toyota, we view this as an opportunity to deliver products like the all-new Hilux that empower customers with greater freedom, confidence and peace of mind,” said Tadashi Asazuma, Deputy Managing Director, Toyota Kirloskar Motor.

    The Hilux includes a newly designed front bumper with piano black accents, LED headlamps with welcome function, LED fog lamps, and distinctive daytime running lights enhance its contemporary, premium appeal. Alloy wheels, aerodynamic stabilizing fins, electrically adjustable and retractable ORVMs, LED rear combination lamps, and a shark-fin antenna further elevates the visual appeal, while adding stability and modern functionality.

    The firm also points to the vehicle’s 2.8-litre BS6 Phase 2 diesel engine with 150 kW and 500 Nm, paired with a 6-speed Automatic Transmission. The Hilux, the company claims, comes with an 80-litre fuel tank, aiding it for long-distance endurance, enhanced drivability and refined acceleration across highways, urban roads, and challenging terrains.

    “The exterior and interior of the all-new Hilux is designed under the “Tough & Agile” concept, combining “strength with agility”, emphasizing simplicity that is also powerful. With a 2.8-litre engine, the hallmark 4WD capability, advanced connected technologies like the 12.3-inch infotainment system with i-Connect, and comprehensive safety features including seven airbags and driver assist features, we are confident that all-new Hilux will continue to uphold its unchanged promise of serving generations.” said Sabari Manohar, Executive Vice President – Sales-Service-Used Car Business, Toyota Kirloskar Motor.According to the press release, the latest Hilux is equipped with Toyota’s advanced four-wheel-drive system features High (H4) and Low (L4) range as well as an Electronic Differential Lock, and Downhill Assist Control (DAC) to aid in its off-road capabilities. The company claims that their vehicle comes with suspension with double wishbone front, leaf spring rear, and optimised braking which enables greater road grip and a controlled ride.

    The company also claims that the Hilux has high approach and departure angles, highlighting the company’s history with chassis engineering.

    The company claims that its newest Hilux incorporates a 12.3-inch infotainment display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with a new optitron metal-tone combimeter with illumination control concomitant with Toyota’s i-Connect features. The vehicle according to the release comes with Multi-information TFT displays, steering-mounted audio controls, voice recognition and an eight-speaker audio system.

    According to the firm, the Hilux incorporates soft-touch upholstery with metallic accents, integrated storage. The vehicle incorporates features such as tilt and telescopic steering, 60:40 split rear seats, and power windows with jam protection enhance everyday usability. The vehicles further Smart Entry and Push Start/Stop, park assist, power steering, wireless charging, cruise control, rear armrest, PM2.5 air filtration, and multiple drive modes – Eco, Normal, and Sport.

    The company claims the vehicle comes with a suite of active and passive safety features that ensures peace of mind. According to the firm, the Hilux also comes with seven SRS airbags, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Brake Assist (BA), Emergency Brake Signal, ISOFIX child restraint anchorages, and front seatbelts with force limiters. Impact-absorbing Global Outstanding Assessment [GOA] body structure and speed-sensing doors. Additionally, the Hilux also incorporates front and rear parking sensors, and TPMS to enhance visibility and driver awareness.
