Green Bay is about to open training camp without a clear answer on when its pass rusher Micah Parsons comes back.

Packers insider Matt Schneidman reported Monday that Parsons is “probably” going to miss the first month and a half of the 2026 season as he continues recovering from a torn ACL. According to Schneidman, Parsons is targeting a Week 6 return at Lambeau Field against the Dallas Cowboys, the team that traded him to Green Bay before last season began after an extended contract drama.

This set off a wave of reaction from fans.

“Jerry Jones fleeced Green Bay so hard that Parsons is already missing the first 6 weeks on that massive deal. Absolute robbery,” one fan wrote.

“Cowboys with a great trade in hindsight. Even if Parsons doesn’t get hurt they got max value for him,” another wrote.

“If he’s not back by Week 5 might as well just take his sweet time,” a third fan wrote.

“We knew this was coming,” a fourth fan wrote.

“Dam Jerry fleeced,” a fifth wrote.

“Damn, I’m at a point now where Jerry jones fleeced the packers lmao,” one fan commented.

Parsons faced his former team once last year in a game in Dallas that ended in a tie.

He tore his ACL last season against the Denver Broncos after a strong start. The Packers gave up two first-round picks in the deal with Jerry Jones’ Cowboys. Without him healthy down the stretch, the defense collapsed late in the year, and Green Bay blew a big lead in a divisional-round loss to the Chicago Bears that ended its season.

Lukas Van Ness is expected to serve as the primary rusher after missing significant time last year with a foot injury. Barryn Sorrell is projected to start opposite Van Ness after a promising Week 18 showing against the Minnesota Vikings, despite limited regular-season snaps.

Behind that pairing, the depth chart is unproven.

Fifth-round pick Collin Oliver, a hybrid off-ball linebacker and edge defender, lost most of his rookie season to a hamstring injury but is expected to enter camp healthy. Fourth-round rookie Dani Dennis-Sutton is viewed as a potential early contributor because of his floor as a run defender, while Brenton Cox Jr., who has five sacks over the past two seasons, and special teamer Arron Mosby round out the rotation.

Undrafted rookie Nyjalik Kelly, who received the most guaranteed money in Green Bay’s undrafted class, could push for a roster spot if the team doesn’t add a veteran.
