Liverpool are reportedly considering a move for FIFA World Cup star Francisco Conceicao, who they deem to be a cheaper alternative to Bradley Barcola. The Reds are in the market for attacking reinforcement following their struggles in the 2025-26 season.

According to Italian outlets Tuttosport and Calciomercato, Andoni Iraola’s side are weighing up an approach to sign Portugal and Juventus forward Conceicao this summer. The 23-year-old is expected to cost in the region of €50 million, significantly less than Paris Saint-Germain (PSG)’s asking price for France international Barcola.

Liverpool are looking to bring in a replacement for Mohamed Salah in attack after the 34-year-old left the club as a free agent this summer. The Reds had Yan Diomande at the top of their shortlist but have failed to convince the Ivorian teenager to choose their project, even after a bid to RB Leipzig.

They have since moved on, bringing in Spain FIFA World Cup winner Victor Munoz for around €40 million from Osasuna. They remain intent on adding another wide forward and have been linked with a move for PSG ace Barcola.

PSG have communicated that they want a €170 million fee to sell the France international, a fee that will see Liverpool break the Premier League transfer record for a second successive summer. Liverpool have been linked with Maghnes Akliouche, and now view Conceicao as another alternative to Barcola.

Francisco Conceicao scored six goals and provided five assists in 45 appearances across all competitions for Juventus in the 2025-26 season. The Bianconeri paid €32 million to sign him permanently last summer, and will be hoping to make a profit if they are to sell him.

Liverpool eyeing impressive FIFA World Cup star: Reports

Liverpool are keeping close tabs on AS Roma star Neil El-Aynaoui after his impressive FIFA World Cup outing. The midfielder appeared in every game for Morocco at the Mundial this summer.

According to pundit Eleonora Trotta (via Yahoo Sports), El-Aynaoui is liked by multiple clubs, especially after the FIFA World Cup. The 25-year-old is on the radars of Manchester United and Fenerbahce, as well, as both teams look for midfield reinforcements.

Born in France to Moroccan parents, El-Aynaoui has racked up 22 appearances for the Atlas Lions, impressing in the middle of the park. He has spent just one year in the Serie A, having joined AS Roma for a reported €23.5 million fee from RC Lens last summer.
