Combos in Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls can feel overwhelming at first, especially for players new to fighting games. However, thanks to the new Link Attack system, even beginners can perform powerful combos easily and deal damage just by pressing the same button repeatedly.
This article covers everything you need to know about combos in Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls as a beginner.

Attacking combos

The core of attacking combos in Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls is the Link Attack mechanic. Pressing the same attack button multiple times in a row automatically triggers a combo sequence. As such, just mash the Square button for light attacks, the Triangle button for medium attacks, and the Circle button for heavy attacks, which also lead to a finisher.
Here are the basic Link Attack combos:
- L > L > L > L: Chains into a Skill and can trigger a Break, which transitions the fight to a different part of the stage.
- M > M > M: Leads into a powerful Super Skill.
- H > H > H: Leads into an even stronger Ultimate Skill.
Once you are comfortable with the basics, you can extend your combos by mixing button types together. The most important extended combo to learn early is:
- L > M > H > Skill > Assemble Rush > Follow-up Attack
This sequence brings in your teammates and results in additional follow-up damage.
Defensive combos

Defense in Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls is not just about blocking. The game has three defensive options that can help you avoid damage or land counterattacks.
Guard
- Hold Left to perform a standing guard against mid and high attacks.
- Hold Down-Left to perform a crouching guard against low attacks.
Assemble Counter
- Press Square + Cross while not guarding to trigger this move. After pressing the buttons, your character steps back and automatically counters any incoming attacks.
Crossover
- Press Square + Cross while you are already guarding. This calls in a teammate to interrupt the opponent’s attack and opens a window for you to attack.
How to use assist and switch characters in Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls

As important as offense and defense are, character switching is also an integral part of the gameplay. Pressing Cross calls in a teammate to perform an Assemble Assist attack. The direction you hold when you press the button determines which teammate will join you:
- Neutral or Right + Cross: Calls in your second teammate.
- Down + Cross: Calls in your third teammate.
- Left + Cross: Calls in your fourth teammate.
Alternatively, if you want to switch your main character, press a direction along with L2. Doing so will change your active character, allowing you to use the character you were previously relying on for an Assemble Assist attack.
