    Thunder Rosa is a popular name in the world of professional wrestling. Fans know her for her work in All Elite Wrestling, where she has impressed a lot of people with her performance in the squared circle. Over the years, she has created a solid impact in AEW and has even managed to become an AEW Women’s World Champion.

    Today, Rosa is celebrating her 40th birthday, and AEW has shared a post on its social media to wish the star on this special occasion. Fans are also expressing their well wishes for La Mera Mera on her birthday by highlighting her contribution to the world of professional wrestling over the years.

    Thunder Rosa started her wrestling career in 2014 in independent wrestling promotions like Supreme Pro Wrestling. Later on, the 40-year-old star made a significant impact in the wrestling business with her work in the Lucha Underground from 2015 to 2019. After that, Rosa worked in companies like ROH, NWA, WOW, and Tokyo Joshi Pro, where she even won multiple titles.

    It all led Rosa to join All Elite Wrestling in 2020 on an episode of Dynamite. She went after then-AEW Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida in a fiery promo. In March 2022, La Mera Mera defeated Britt Baker on an episode of Dynamite held in San Antonio to become the AEW Women’s World Champion.

    Thunder Rosa will challenge for the Mexico National Women’s Championship

    Following her AEW success, Thunder Rosa has been competing in CMLL for the past few months. At the CMLL event on July 19, the 40-year-old competed in an elimination match to become the number one contender for the Mexico National Women’s Title. The match featured the likes of Reyna Isis, Keyra, Garra Negra, Sanely, Skadi, Hera, and Olympi alongside Rosa.

    With a valiant performance, La Mera Mera went on to win the battle to become the number one contender for the championship. Now, she will face the current champion India Sioux on July 31 at the CMLL event. Sioux has been a champion for over 500 days.

    Currently, Rosa has been working under a dual contract with AEW and CMLL. It will be interesting to see if she will be able to become the new Mexico National Women’s Champion later this month.
