In Racing Into Nowhere in Elder Scrolls Online, it’s finally time to break into the Nowhere Vault. We’ve got a key or two, as well as a location. It’s up to us to get there before the Koldane Cartel does, but how will it all go down? That’s what we’re here to help you with! If you want to get some help sorting this season finale out, look no further.

I’ll do my best to avoid spoilers, but the video below does feature heavy spoilers, so do keep that in mind if you’re looking to be surprised. Here’s our complete Racing Into Nowhere quest walkthrough for Elder Scrolls Online.

After The Nowhere Keys wraps up in Elder Scrolls Online, you can start Racing Into Nowhere immediately. We’ve found someone that can get us closer to the Nowhere Vault, but it’s going to be up to us to actually break in, use the keys, and find whatever lies at the end. We may also have to battle with the Koldane Cartel’s forces as well.

Skeel-Kasi is going to help us get to the Nowhere Vault in Elder Scrolls Online, but before you leave, take the time to speak to your allies. This is where you learn that you really are a guild, now. Everyone’s finally coming together, and makes all this struggle worthwhile. It feels good! Then, after you’re done, head to the northern coast of Glenumbra, via the Lion Guard Redoubt Wayshrine.

Ride down to the quest marker, and you’ll see the whole crew, as well as Skeel-Kasi. Upon arriving, talk to Captain Sansonne, who revealed we now know where Gavin Koldane is. He reluctantly agrees to go with us to the Nowhere Vault. It’s time to go to Sage’s Isle via the nearby boat.

    2) Explore Sage’s Isle, Enter the Sage’s Isle Ruins, Explore the Sage’s Isle Ruins, Find the Vault Entrance, Present the Nowhere Key

The beginning is pretty easy, thankfully (Image via ZOS || Sportskeeda)

The actual Sage’s Isle is pretty straightforward. Just keep heading towards the quest marker! There’s not much to see here in this Elder Scrolls Online zone, so just keep moving. You’ll have a few enemies to kill, but they aren’t a real threat to you. At the end, you’ll enter the Sage’s Isle Ruins.

This is another straightforward part of the dungeon. You’ll get a quest icon that leads you forward, where, before you can progress, you need to pick an ally to join you. I do not believe it matters, and comes down solely to who you prefer. I chose Seline Menant, but if you prefer Edwane the Hawk, go with him.

Once you pick a side, it’s time to find the Vault Entrance for this Elder Scrolls Online quest. Head forward towards the quest marker, and in the next area you’ll battle a Frost Atronach before moving on.

In the next room, you’ll see that the Koldane Cartel has beat you to the punch! Head down the path towards the Vault Entrance, the Sage’s Isle Ritual Chamber. After you Present the Nowhere Key, you’ll need to complete a small puzzle.

    3) Complete the Ritual x4, Talk to Sage Voernet’s Memorium, Explore the Nowhere Vault, Talk to Edwane the Hawk

You’ll need to interact with the four pedestals in the correct order to Complete the Ritual in Elder Scrolls Online, which you can see in the image above. If you pick the wrong one, you and your whole team get shocked, and the puzzle resets. If you want to get it done in the quickest amount of time, pick them in this order (Left to Right):

Here's the solution to the puzzle (Image via ZOS || Sportskeeda)

With the puzzle solved, you can enter the Nowhere Vault proper. Within you’ll find a magical entity, Sage Voernet’s Memorium. He’ll warn you that challenges and puzzles await, but it won’t be all that bad, at least, not in this run. After the interesting chat, it’s time to Explore the Nowhere Vault.

In the first checkpoint, you’ll talk to Edwane the Hawk. There’s only one place to go and that’s north. We got separated, and you’ll have to help the party progress. You’re going to repeat the same steps a few times. First, use the Dwemer Device. Then, use the Dwemer Valve to stop whatever trap your party is dealing with. Then, use the Dwemer Device again to communicate that the trap is stopped.

You’re going to run down a hallway and do this two more times. Between these, you’ll also fight a couple of Dwarven automatons. The first one’s much tankier and more annoying than the second, though. At the end, you’ll resume exploring the Nowhere Vault, where you get dropped into a room with some relics.

    4) Talk to Seline Menant, Find the True Staff, Find the True Crown, Find the True Tome, Explore the Nowhere Vault, Open the Gates x3

Just look up! There she is! (Image via ZOS || Sportskeeda)

After a few moments of being in this room, you’ll get the cue to talk to Seline Menant, and here’s where many players think the quest is bugged, but it isn’t. The problem is that the quest marker shows she’s in front of you, but she’s not.

If you want to talk to Seline Menant during Elder Scrolls Online’s Racing Into Nowhere quest, look up! She’s on a platform high above, but if you aim at her, you can talk to her. You’ll need to grab the correct relics (Staff, Crown, Tome) by looking at the ones that match the images conjured. Or you can just look at the image to see which ones to interact with, and in what order.

Finally, the True Tome (Image via ZOS || Sportskeeda)
Finally, the True Tome (Image via ZOS || Sportskeeda)

After you pick out all three, you can resume exploring the Nowhere Vault, and as soon as you enter the portal, talk to Quen. You’ll need to open three Gates, by turning three wheels. Head down the stairs, defeat the Alit, and look to the left to crank the wheel. The gate will open, and you can move on.

Go upstairs for the next part of this Elder Scrolls Online quest, where you first must defeat a Senche-Tiger and a Lion. Look to your left again for the quest icon, and turn the wheel! After this gate, you must best a Dro’Mothra, which is a corrupted Khajiit. The only difficult fight so far, it has quite a few AOEs to deal with, but if you stay mobile, it’s no true threat. Then to your left again, there’s another wheel to turn.

    5) Explore the Nowhere Vault, Enter the Portal, Defeat Koldane Cartel Thugs, Escape the Koldane Cartel Ambush, Reach Gavin Koldane, Defeat Gavin Koldane

After you teleport away, get ready for a big boss fight (Image via ZOS || Sportskeeda)
After you teleport away, get ready for a big boss fight (Image via ZOS || Sportskeeda)

The Nowhere Vault exploration continues in Elder Scrolls Online, after you enter the Portal. You’ll find a small group of Koldane Cartel Thugs, and a fight ensues! You’ll have to fight a few waves of thugs, before the objective changes to escape the Koldane Cartel Ambush.

Head to the platform in the middle of the main chamber, and place the Nowhere Key, and you’ll be transported to the next part of the quest. The final test is defeating the mighty werewolf, Gavin Koldane. He’s only got a few attacks, but they are incredibly tanky unless you are equally mighty.

    • Petrifying Breath: A cone in front of him will be briefly petrified after a delay. Get out of the cone.
    • Mighty Slam: A growing circle around him expands, and when it stops, he smashes the ground.
    • Brutal Combo: He glows red and charges up. Block to avoid being blasted by this.
At least you only fight the adds once (Image via ZOS || Sportskeeda)

Once during this Elder Scrolls Online boss fight, Gavin will also summon large werewolves/cartel enforcers. You will want to deal with them before resuming the fight with Gavin. Most are melee, but there’s also an archer that drops fire AOEs. Other than that, this is just a long, slog of a fight. He has no other noteworthy attacks, so defeat his allies, and then resume kiting him around the room.

    6) Catch the Thieves’ Moon, Use the Thieves’ Moon, Talk to Quen, Exit the Vault of Sage Voernet, Talk to Captain Sansonne, Return to Thieves Den, Talk to Quen, Choose the Leader of the Thieves Guild

I have a feeling we'll be back soon enough (Image via ZOS || Sportskeeda)
I have a feeling we’ll be back soon enough (Image via ZOS || Sportskeeda)

After you defeat him, he’ll start using a massive AOE roar. It’s time to catch the Thieves’ Moon, so run past him and stand in the AOE and interact to catch the item and then use the Thieves’ Moon. Time will stop, and when everything comes back, Gavin’s done for. Now it’s time to chat with Quen.

The Gem we recover can be used to upgrade the Prowler’s Talisman, so that’s a positive! You then talk to Sage Voernet’s Memorium, who tells you to get out, but says there are plenty of keys out there, so if you get one, you can come back and challenge the trials again.

Then after you leave, talk to Captain Sansonne, who says we’re even, but there’s still the matter of Quen’s warrant. You can deal with that later. It’s time to get back to the Thieves’ Den. After you speak to Quen again, you need to pick a new Guild Leader for Elder Scrolls Online.

Talk with all three, and make your choice! There’s really no wrong choice. Personally, I went with Seline Menant, but I like her the best. This wraps up the main quest for Season One of Elder Scrolls Online. There’s still plenty to do though, like the Tip Board missions, upgrading your Prowler’s Medallion, and more.
