Officials from Delhi University revealed on Friday that the 2026-27 academic year has seen 1.9 lakh applications for undergraduate admission submitted, while over 1.64 candidates have taken steps to fill out preferences.

According to estimates from students, 1,90,645 students have been registered in the UG admission process using the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS).

University authorities revealed that 1,64,098 candidates managed to complete the phase II of the admissions process, which consists of filling out preferences relating to programmes and colleges.

A correction window was opened by the institution on accounts of a request made by concerned students regarding errors they experienced while filling out their information on the portal previously.

The applicants are advised to correct their mistakes through the portal provided the window remains open till 11.59 pm on Saturday.

During a webinar held earlier this week to guide applicants through the admission process, the university officials urged students to carefully complete subject mapping and preference filling before the deadline.Admissions will be conducted for 73 undergraduate programmes offered across 69 colleges and departments, with a total of 71,624 seats available. Around 150 BA programme combinations are on offer, and the detailed seat matrix has already been uploaded on the university website, the officials said.

Candidates have been advised to carefully review their programme and college preferences before the deadline, after which the choices will be automatically locked, they added.

Admissions under supernumerary categories, including sports and extracurricular activities, will also be processed based on the candidate’s preferences.

The first seat allocation list will be released on July 16.

After accepting an allotted seat and paying the admission fee, candidates can either freeze their admission or opt for an upgrade in subsequent rounds.

Students opting for an upgrade will be allowed to reorder their higher preferences before the next allocation round.

The university has also introduced a virtual wallet mechanism for fee payment. The officials said candidates upgraded to another programme or college after paying the admission fee in the first round will have the amount automatically adjusted, eliminating the need for repeated payments.

The university plans to complete two rounds of admissions before the commencement of the academic session on July 28.

The university said the third allocation list for two-year postgraduate programmes, including performance-based courses such as MFA, B.P.Ed, M.P.Ed and Music, was released on July 10.

A total of 1,765 fresh allocations have been made, including 1,551 for regular postgraduate admissions and 214 for performance-based programmes, while 5,848 candidates have frozen their allotted seats. Candidates have until 11.59 pm on Saturday to accept their seats.

The university also stated that a total of 8,823 candidates have been registered for the one-year postgraduate program for students who completed their four-year undergraduate study conforming to the UGCF 2022 based on the NEP 2020.

The second allocation list for BTech admissions has been notified while the first cycle of spot admission is opened for five-year integrated law programs on the basis of merit.
