WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event XLV was the latest special show, live from Madison Square Garden. The event witnessed a major title change and appearances from Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins.

Besides that, several major developments took place, making things even more interesting ahead of SummerSlam 2026. In this article, we will discuss four things WWE may have subtly told us at the latest edition of SNME.

#4. WWE has not given up on The Fatal Influence

The Fatal Influence dethroned Paige and Brie Bella to become the new Women’s Tag Team Champions. Jacy Jayne assisted her faction members, helping Lainey Reid and Fallon Henley secure a roll-up victory over the champions.

It’s crucial to note that before this, Jacy had failed to accomplish any major feat on the main roster. She also competed in a qualifier for the Interim Women’s title ladder match on SmackDown, but failed to advance.

However, winning the tag team titles at SNME suggests that the Triple H creative regime hasn’t given up on the faction.

#3. Cody Rhodes turning heel soon?

“last night was an accident, and i apologize. this, is on purpose.” NOOOO THEYRE FIGHTING AGAIN 😭😭

Cody Rhodes and CM Punk defeated Gunther and Sami Zayn in a high-profile tag team match at Saturday Night’s Main Event, thanks to Nick Aldis. The National Treasure cost The Ring General the match by pulling the referee out at the last moment.

As a result, The American Nightmare and The Second City Saint came out on top. During the post-match celebration, Punk accidentally struck Cody with the undisputed title.

Later in the post-show, The Prodigal Son confronted The Voice of the Voiceless, and the two engaged in a heated face-off. They also came face-to-face at the recent SummerSlam Kickoff event, where Punk shoved Cody after smacking him in the face.

The former Undisputed Champion was furious, and all these developments could be a tease that Cody Rhodes is on his way to turning heel in the company.

#2. Bayley could be leaving WWE soon

WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event was a horrible night for Bayley fans. Lyra Valkyria defeated The Hugger and brutally destroyed the former Women’s Champion.

With this development, it appears that Bayley has been written off television. Meanwhile, many believe this could be the last time we’ve seen The Hugger on WWE programming, as she may be departing the TKO-led promotion soon.

#1. Jalen Brunson and Tyrese Haliburton’s segment with Roman Reigns & Seth Rollins was a one-time thing

Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins are set to lock horns for the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam this year. However, Jalen Brunson and Tyrese Haliburton became involved in the former Shield members’ storyline at SNME.

The OTC and Jalen stood tall at the end of the show, taking out Rollins and Haliburton. Following this, the WWE Universe has been discussing the chances of celebrity involvement in the title bout.

However, that doesn’t seem to be the case. Jalen and Tyrese’s appearance at SNME was likely a one-off, and they are not expected to be involved in the SummerSlam match.
