The University of Delhi (DU) on Thursday announced the results of the first round of undergraduate admissions for the 2026-27 academic session, allocating 93,033 seats across 221 undergraduate programmes offered by 67 colleges.

According to the university, 2,18,284 candidates had successfully registered for the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS)-UG, of whom 2,08,043 completed Phase II by July 13. The first round considered 15,94,385 unique programme-college preferences submitted by applicants.

Of the total allocations, 42,019 seats were allotted to male candidates and 51,014 to female candidates, resulting in an overall allocation rate of 86.1 per cent.

The university also allotted 1,243 seats under the Single Girl Child category and 242 seats to orphan candidates, including 109 males and 133 females.

Among reservation categories, the Unreserved category recorded the highest fill rate at 99.9 per cent, followed by OBC (96 per cent), SC (95.2 per cent) and EWS (92.7 per cent). The ST category recorded a fill rate of 67.3 per cent, while PwBD seats stood at 23 per cent.

Candidates allotted seats in the first round must accept their allocations by 11.59 pm on July 18. After accepting the seat and receiving the payment link, candidates are required to complete the admission fee payment within the stipulated timeline.

The university said candidates opting for the “upgrade” option will be able to reorder their higher preferences until 11.59 pm on July 21 and can revise these preferences multiple times before the deadline.

The second allocation list is scheduled to be released on July 25, 2026. Candidates who fail to accept their allotted seat by July 18 will be removed from the CSAS counselling process.

How to check DU UG seat allotment 2026

Step 1: Candidates can check their seat allotment by visiting the official DU UG Admission Portal–ugadmission.uod.ac.in/– and clicking on “Candidate Login.”

Step 2: They will need to enter their CUET UG 2026 application number and password, complete the security captcha, and click “Login.”

Step 3: Candidates can then open the “First Round Allotment Status” link to view, download, and save their allotment details for future reference.

Step 4: Once the allotted college verifies the uploaded documents, candidates can proceed with online fee payment to confirm their provisional admission.

Delhi University has recorded its highest-ever CSAS participation since the portal was introduced in 2022. According to registration statistics, a total of 2,73,751 candidates registered for admission this year, of whom 2,18,284 completed Phase I, and 2,08,043 candidates locked their preference forms.
The university is offering a total of 71,624 undergraduate seats across 73 programmes, spread over 69 participating colleges and departments. With 2,08,043 candidates competing for 71,624 seats, nearly three students are vying for every available seat this admission cycle.
