The Rock hasn’t been seen on WWE TV since last year. However, a RAW Superstar recently challenged him to a first-time-ever match.
The Final Boss returned to WWE last year in the buildup to Elimination Chamber. He demanded that Cody Rhodes sell his “soul” and become a corporate champion. At the premium live event, Rhodes boldly refused Rocky’s proposal. However, the legend had a backup plan in place. Alongside rapper Travis Scott, The Rock orchestrated John Cena’s unexpected heel turn.
Thanks for the submission!
The trio launched a brutal attack on The American Nightmare, leaving him in a pool of his own blood. Following the segment, the Hollywood megastar was expected to appear at WrestleMania 41, but he missed the show.
It has been over two years since The Final Boss last wrestled in WWE. However, he might now have a legitimate reason to come back. On the latest episode of Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Ethan Page discussed sharing the screen with Rocky for a promo segment in NXT.
“I mean, there’s nothing else that I need to do [besides thanking The Rock for being an inspiration], unless he wants to have a match with me,” Page said.
All Ego then shockingly issued a challenge to The Rock for a one-on-one match. He also fired shots at the legend while in character.
“Come on. Rock, put your little underwear on. Let’s do it. Everybody wants to see your hamstrings.” [H/T: chrisvanvliet.com]

Rocky’s last WWE match came at WrestleMania XL in April 2024. He teamed up with his cousin, Roman Reigns, to defeat Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins in a tag team match on Night One of The Show of Shows. The following night, The Final Boss attempted to prevent Rhodes from defeating Reigns. However, he was stopped in his tracks by the returning Undertaker.
Hall of Famer is “Begging” For a Match Between The Rock and Roman Reigns
The Rock is currently occupied with many different projects in the entertainment world. However, he has seemingly left the door open for his much-awaited in-ring comeback. For years, fans and pro wrestlers have been clamoring for a match between Rocky and Roman Reigns. The duo was close to facing each other in 2024, but the OTC ended up battling Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania XL.
Rocky’s former Nation of Domination teammate, Mark Henry, was recently interviewed by PWInsider. During the chat, the Hall of Famer addressed the prospect of Reigns vs. Rock. Henry said the potential bout could be the biggest showdown in the business’ rich history.
The World’s Strongest Man added that he has been “begging” for the dream match for the past five years. However, WWE has yet to pull the trigger on the storyline. Will the Samoan cousins finally square off at WrestleMania next year? Fans must stay tuned to find out.
