An Indian fan at the 2026 FIFA World Cup chose between Cristiano Ronaldo and Virat Kohli when he met Ronaldo superfan IShowSpped, an American YouTuber. Both Ronaldo and Kohli are legends in their respective sport.
Ronaldo is making a record-equalling sixth appearance at the World Cup during the ongoing 2026 edition in North America. After going scoreless in the campaign-opening 1-1 draw with DR Congo, the 41-year-old came to the party in the 5-0 win over Uzbekistan.
Thanks for the submission!
Scoring twice, Ronaldo became the first player to score in six FIFA World Cups, the oldest to net a brace and the first to score 10 times at the World Cup and the European Championships.
Ahead of Ronaldo and Co.’s Round of 32 clash with 2018 finalists Croatia on Thursday (July 2) in Toronto, Speed met an Indian fan and asked him to pick between the Portuguese and Kohli, a cricketing behemoth. The fan, who was wearing a Brazil jersey, picked Ronaldo as he responded (as per Sppedy HQ):
“Ronaldo, man.”
Kohli is one of the greatest cricket players, with a staggering 85 international hundreds and a two-time World Cup winner across formats. Ronaldo, meanwhile, is the most prolific scorer in the beautiful game’s history, with 975 strikes for club and country, but is yet to win the FIFA World Cup.
What other records Cristiano Ronaldo has set at the 2026 FIFA World Cup?

By scoring against Uzbekistan in Portugal’s second group match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Cristiano Ronaldo set a multitude of records, one of them being becoming the first player to score in six different editions of the competition.
It also made him the second oldest player – after Cameron’s Roger Milla – to score at the World Cup, and one of three players – the two others being Lionel Messi and Michael Laudrup – to become their nation’s youngest as well as oldest scorer in the competition.
Cristiano Ronaldo came close to breaking Messi’s record of oldest hat-trick scorer at the World Cup – set during the 3-0 win over Algeria this month – but was denied by the Uzbek custodian Abduvokhid Nematov on multiple occasions.
