Wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk just made a move on his conflict with the San Francisco 49ers on Monday. And NFL insider Grant Cohn thinks Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels helped him do it.
Aiyuk has been in a public fallout with the 49ers since he stopped attending rehab sessions and demanded to be released.

On Monday, Cohn posted a video breakdown on X after Aiyuk formally filed paperwork to fire his agent and submitted a written complaint to the NFL Players Association, the union that represents professional football players.

“Maybe he’s finally getting some help from someone, maybe a different agent who could be his agent soon. I’m thinking Jayden Daniels’ mother,” Cohn said.

“It’s almost like he had help with this one. Again, I feel like we’re about to find out that he has a new agent, and it’s Jayden Daniels’ mother, and, again, I think he’s going to end up with the Washington Commanders.”
Aiyuk posted a statement on Instagram, accusing specific NFLPA members of siding with the 49ers over him.
“When members of the union that is in place to help players is lying/witholding information from a player on behalf of the team alongside a certified agent…that’s some straight BS!!!” Aiyuk wrote.
“Some players have no other place to go for information or help, and are relying on the union to help them continue advancing in their careers and lives!”
Jayden Daniels‘ mother, Tianna Daniels, is an NFLPA-certified agent and represents her son.

Brandon Aiyuk‘s former representative also serves as 49ers general manager John Lynch’s agent. This raises a conflict of interest in the whole dispute.
Aiyuk hasn’t filed for NFL reinstatement yet. That’s the only action that would force the 49ers’ hand and open the door to Washington.
