NEW DELHI: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Monday took a swipe at Eknath Shinde, saying the Maharashtra deputy chief minister has “given birth to traitors” after six rebel Lok Sabha MPs of Sena (UBT) formally joined the Shinde-led Shiv Sena. This is the latest in a series of controversial remarks by Raut since reports of a rebellion first began making rounds. He has also publicly used abusive language against the dissidents. Also Read | ‘Do you take Eknath seriously?’ Sanjay Raut on Shinde’s ‘yeh toh trailer hai’ remark“A Kenyan woman has a record of giving birth to quintuplets, but a cradle of six traitors is swaying in ‘Nandanvan’,” he told reporters, referring to Shinde’s official residence.“Shinde has given birth to six gaddars (traitors),” he added. The deputy CM, Raut remarked, has to undergo a “Cesarean surgery.”His comments came shortly after Shinde declared that “Operation Tiger is complete” after all six rebel Lok Sabha MPs from Shiv Sena (UBT) joined the Shiv Sena, marking another split in the Uddhav Thackeray camp following the party’s rupture in June 2022.Also Read | ‘Kuch log…’: Sanjay Raut counters Eknath Shinde’s ‘sher akela aata hai’ remark with loyal dog postThe rebels were inducted into the Shiv Sena at an event attended by Shinde and other senior party leaders, five days after they skipped a crucial Shiv Sena (UBT) parliamentary party meeting in New Delhi. Only three of the party’s nine Lok Sabha MPs attended that meeting. The six who crossed over are Sanjay Deshmukh (Yavatmal), Sanjay Jadhav (Parbhani), Sanjay Dina Patil (Mumbai North East), Nagesh Patil-Ashtikar (Hingoli), Omprakash Rajenimbalkar (Dharashiv), and Bhausaheb Wakchaure (Shirdi).(With PTI inputs)
