    Bihar gets record Rs 10,000 crore for rail infrastructure in FY27: Ashwini Vaishnaw

    Union Railway Minister Vaishnaw on Friday announced a record allocation of more than Rs 10,000 crore for railway infrastructure in Bihar in the current financial year, while unveiling a series of projects aimed at strengthening the state’s rail network.

    Speaking during a day-long visit to Bihar, Vaishnaw also announced a new express train connecting Chapra with Delhi and highlighted the state’s growing role in railway manufacturing.

    “Locomotives from the state are being exported. Today, the 51st locomotive engine will be exported from the Marhowrah plant in Bihar to an African country,” the railway minister said.

    Vaishnaw said railway projects worth around Rs 1.15 lakh crore are currently under implementation across Bihar.

    “The PM has allocated a record railway budget of more than Rs 10,000 crore for the development of rail infrastructure in Bihar in the current financial year,” he said.

    As part of the infrastructure push, the minister said five additional platforms are being built at Patna Junction to enhance passenger handling capacity. He added that Fatuha railway station, located near the state capital, is also being upgraded.
