Marta Kostyuk is enjoying a career-best season on Tour, having lifted her biggest title in Madrid and rising to a new high on No. 12. She had a particularly successful time on court during the European clay swing, which concluded with the French Open recently.

The Ukrainian had made her first Grand Slam semifinal in Paris, beating big names including four-time former winner Iga Swiatek and compatriot Elina Svitolina en-route. She lost to eventual champion Mirra Andreeva in the last-four, but had plenty of positives to take home.

After a hectic few months, Kostyuk seems to have taken a conscious decision to take some time off tennis. The 23-year-old was scheduled to play at the Queen’s Club, but pulled out from the tournament last minute. In fact, she has not played any matches during the ongoing grass swing.

The Ukranian is instead using the time to relax and go on a mini-vacation. On Tuesday, she took to Instagram to share photographs from her latest trip. Without sharing too many details, she captioned the post with a blue heart to match her blue bikini. Crystal-clear water makes for a serene background for the photograph.

By the looks of it, Kostyuk could give the entire grass swing a miss and head straight to Wimbledon. The second of competition has already begun for the swing with tournaments in Berlin and Nottingham. Only one set of tournaments, Bad Homburg and Eastbourne remain before the Tour arrives at the All England Club.

Marta Kostyuk had actually arrived at the Queen’s Club and was seen hitting the practice courts before abruptly withdrawing from the tournament. She had endured a rough grasscourt swing last year, losing in the opening round of the three tournaments that she played.

The Ukranian had suffered a first-round defeat at the hands of Emma Navarro before falling to the same opponent in Bad Homburg next week. She came into Wimbledon in poor form and exited in the opening round, losing to lower-ranked Veronika Erjavec.

Kostyuk will be looking to turn things around for herself at the All England Club this year. Notably, it is the only Grand Slam where she is yet to make the second week. Her best performance remains third-round showings in 2023 and 2024.
