BTS fans were left puzzled on June 16, 2026, after unusual polls appeared on the TikTok accounts of BTS members V (Kim Taehyung), Jungkook (Jeon Jung-kook), j-hope (Jung Ho-seok), as well as the group’s official account. The incident quickly sparked discussions across social media, with many questioning whether the accounts had been hacked.
Recently Jungkook, Taehyung, and j-hope launched their personal TikTok accounts and began attracting millions of followers. Howeve, on the day, fans noticed polls appearing on the accounts that encouraged users to follow an unfamiliar profile named @dudegeorgesontg seemingly unrelated to BTS or HYBE.
Screenshots shared by fans showed the accounts being promoted through the polls. As the posts spread online, many users advised others not to interact with the polls or follow the promoted accounts.
The situation led to widespread concern among ARMY, particularly because the polls appeared across multiple BTS-related accounts at the same time. Some initially believed the members’ personal profiles and the official group account had all been hacked simultaneously.
As discussions continued, users discovered that similar suspicious polls had reportedly appeared on the accounts of several other celebrities as well. This led some fans to speculate that the issue could be linked to a broader platform-related problem rather than being isolated to the septet.
The incident also revived memories of a previous security issue involving BTS’ TikTok account. In 2021, the group’s official account reportedly experienced a hacking incident, prompting concerns over account safety.
The latest situation therefore raised additional worries among fans who remembered the earlier breach. While many expressed concern, several fans joked about the members potentially using simple passwords for them to get hacked repeatedly, with one fan commenting,
“I’m afraid it’s bangtan613 with the way they keep getting hacked”
Others shared similar humorous opinions on the situation, though many continued to stress the importance of account security and hoped the issue would be resolved quickly. Some fans jokingly speculated that the members might be using easily recognizable BTS-related references or song titles as their passwords.
At the time fans were discussing the matter online, they also tagged HYBE, Big Hit Music, and TikTok while urging them to investigate the matter.
