Health Aid, Troovy, The Healthy Factory, Healthy Master, Healthy Choice, Plan B and Neuherbs are the other companies the food safety regulator called out for possible violation of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
FSSAI disclosed the action on its social media accounts on Sunday. The companies could not be immediately contacted for comments.
According to FSSAI, the trade name of Emami Healthy & Tasty, the edible oils business of the Kolkata-based Emami Group, could mislead consumers and may be inconsistent with the applicable food safety regulations. Plan B has also come under scrutiny for marketing products as “plant based vegan.” The regulator said such claims may give consumers the impression that the products are vegan, although the company had not secured prior approval for vegan food endorsement under its FSSAI licence.
